Thanks, I was just curious. I ask about stock coils specifically because I am unable to rebuild, but I appreciate the info.

Per Kanger, they don't fit. People experiment though--and sometimes get lucky. If you're really curious, give it a try.

I would like to suggest that you buy a Kanger Airflow control base that will greatly improve your PT3's performance (it will accept both single and dual coils)--all of them work fine; V1, V2, and V3.

Good luck and happy vaping.

Well, it is a vendor mistake that sent me a PT3 instead of a PT2. I already had the airflow control base ready to rock once the PT2 arrived. The shipping to send it back plus the shipping to first get it may very well add up to more than just ordering another PT2 would cost. I've got a boatload of Protank/Evod coils and I don't want to "diversify" into more kanger coils, so I'm just debating on whether or not it is worthwhile to keep this PT3 (which so many people seem to hate) or not.

There are lots of places that say the PT3 is backwards compatible, just not the PT3 heads. Like take this thread for example:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/501718-kanger-protank-2-3-coil-questions.html

Clearly at least a few people had no issues using single coil heads in the PT3.

Either way, if I open up the package, the deal is sealed. So it is something of a conundrum :)

If that's the case, the vendor owes you a PT2--have you contacted them? It's not your responsibility to ship the PT3 back--if he wants it back, he should send you a prepaid shipping label--and send you a PT2 you had ordered.

I have contacted them now, and you're right, I was told they would be sending out the PT2, and that if I can't find a use for the PT3 I should vape it forward to someone else. I shouldn't have doubted the vendor, they have been pretty much flawless with service in the four or five orders I've placed with them.

You know I read an article somewhere about how to make an Evod2 take a single coil. But for the life of me I can't find it. I'm not sure it would work with the protanks though. I was going to try it before my evod2's cracked so I never tried. And now I can't remember what it said to do. So i'm just kind of here talking to myself lol. Sorry.

My daughter and I have been using the Evod Glass on Protank 2 Mini bases with the Kanger single coils since late Spring/early Summer with no problems. However, there have been others who posted in this section of ECF that they had nothing but problems when they tried it. I have no idea what we are doing different, but it has worked, and is still working, for us. We just switched out the bases that came with the tanks for the Protank 2 Mini bases. I kept the original bases and dual coils that came with the tanks in case we decide to go to dual coils in the future, but for now we are happy keeping the single coils that we can use with all our tanks.

Preliminary testing on the Protank 3 with an airflow control valve and a stock single coil - have run 4ml through it and no leaks or gurgles so far. Haven't let the liquid level fall below 1/4 though, lower may cause it. Left it on it's side for a couple hours at one point, also no leaks or flooding. Good sign that they may work, and the reports that the Aerotank works with them as well are quite possible. Note that I have not tested it with the stock base, only the with the airflow control (v1).

Will see how it is after I leave it overnight and filled. Great vape though, so far.

Care to name the vendor? I believe that the good ones should be praised--and that ECF members should know who the good ones are.

Just a suggestion.

Glad it worked out for you!

I have ordered several times and they have always been really great, and responsive customer support. When the PT2 shows up (who knows when with USPS the way it is right now) they will have a lifelong customer.

Both VapeWild and VapingMe have made my transition to vaping a much easier experience than it could have been. Out of the many, many places I've shopped those two have been the standouts.

Going to PIF this PT3 and Airflow base to a friend who only has plastic EVODs though, it'd be better if it continues to work with the single coils (I'm still wary) but I think he'll like it even if it needs the duals.

Dual coils are really nice... Just sayin'.... :p

Now I'm. Not the brightest bulb on the tree so if someone could clarify what I believe to being stated in this thread. Using an Air Control base for the PT will let you use Single Coils in the P3? This right?

Now my add to the discussion, I had been building PT coils for a year and a half and used cotton as a wick with the Cream / honey organic yarn in half or two of the four threads that make up the yarn. Once you get used to how much cotton to use for best wicking the yarn is consistent the're no leaking issues at all. Once the Kayfun came in the door......no more PT coils for me, twice the flavor, dense thick vapor.
Now you may be wondering....."what the heck are you in a thread about PTs then?"

Well it's Christmas Season and I'm doing some searching for the wife...not for a wife.....I got my limit. For the wife, she likes it simple.... That's why she has me...hence my question about the Air Control. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year

They are! I've tried them. But they aren't twice as good, just, a bit better as far as I can tell. Personally I get a satisfying vape from the kanger single coils (heck, even an EVOD or T3s seems to be satisfying, way to go Kanger!) and since I'm running so many tanks at one time, I'm just trying to keep to one type of expensive coil and one type of cheap coil (okay, two cheap coils, still using the T2's).

In any case, I'm more impressed with Kanger products than I thought I would be, and some credit for that deservedly goes to you, Katya :)

When I finally break down and get some Aerotanks, I'll dive in and start getting the dual coils. Promise. :)
