32 ga kanthol 5-6 wraps. oh and instead of clipping I have decided to just grab the tail of the lead and wiggle it until it breaks off. never leaves any piece that can short it out.

This is what I do as well though I might wrap looser since 4/5 wraps gets me in the 2 ohm range.

I did my first micro coils today for a Protank. Used 28 ga with 8/9 wraps and was getting 1.5 ohms wrapped on a finishing nail. Gets a little tight on space in there so have to be careful. If you're new I would use 30ga. I use the cotton yarn from Walmart. It has 4 strands. I use one full strand and the coil and split one in half (two strands) for a flavor wick. Works great and do far no leaking. I do not like the taste of the stock wicks. Really like the cotton for taste much better.

I saw that. He uses a 5/64bit. When I went to the tool box all my small drill bits were in a pile. My eyes were going, and I couldn't read the sizes on the really small bits. The finishing nail fit into the 5/64 space where the drill bit should have been, and was there and handy :). Worked fine, but I was originally shooting to use his trick. I have seen some hints that say to use 1/16 bit, but no way I am going to be able to see that small. Going to have to get a magnifying glass I guess.

Going to be hard to get to 2-2.2 ohms with 30 AWG. I use 30 AWG and my coils average between 1.5 - 1.7 ohms.

I've just started doing my own coils. Started with 32 ga and have now moved to 30 gauge.
Micro-coil, 11 wraps on top around a 1/16" drill bit will get you right at 2.2 ohms each time as long as you trim the excess coil hanging out the bottom right at the edge of the insulator.

I think a 10 wrap was 2.0 and a 12 wrap is around 2.4 +/- 0.1

The cotton can burn if it isn't primed with fluid. That's why you don't see them sold like that commercially.

Totally agree, which is why you cannot (do not) dry burn with cotton. I as well use cotton. I put a couple drops on each side of the wick then fill the tank, once all put together I let it sit for 5-10 minutes which has proven to be more than enough and I've NEVER got a burnt flavor. Depending on the juice, it does take some experimentation to find the right amount of cotton. To much inside the coil and it'll (for lack of better words) choke itself and not pull in the juice as the cotton expands alot once wet. I'm now using 3 of the 4-strand cotton for inside the coil and 2 strands for flavor wicks. Not enough cotton and it'll flood and leak.
