I found that with both of my protanks, the stock wicks that came with them were not so good, I ordered more wicks from Discount Vapers and have not had the first problem with them.

Most if the responses on here pretty much cover it, best bet would be to go with a rebuild using either a cotton ball wick or just some normal wick. But if you think your not ready, than just pop off the rubber seal from a new, unused head, pop off the long metal piece that holds the wicks on, pull the top wick off and replace the metal piece and seal. Works like a charm and it's not too difficult. My protank heads sometimes were just a little finnicky at the beginning but got better with time, just play around with your options, it'll work out eventually!
