Hey guys, my Protank II is just not giving me any taste at all. I'm using MOV's NET Sunday Morning, and my Protank II seems to be wicking fine - there's tons of vapor and I even turned the rubber gasket upside down. No leaking, which is a plus. But simply no flavor. At the very most, I'm getting the mere hint of maple syrup, but it mostly tastes like water vapor or cotton vapor. I'm not getting any burnt tastes until it's practically at 4.8 volts. Could this be that my wick has already been singed and not letting any more flavor in? Or what? Again, seems to produce a ton of flavor (hopefully it's not silica smoke!) Thanks!

Since its not a wicking problem like you said, have you tried the same juice with another topper to make sure its not the liquid's problem? Heard that removing the top wicks sitting on the coil helps the taste to be more pronounced.

I know you dont get burnt tastes but when i do, i just blow back into the mouthpiece and the flavour comes back. Maybe you could give it a try too.

So I checked my heads, and the one I'd been using was fried and charred looking. It doesn't make sense because I've been keeping my battery on the lowest setting; also, the MOV juice is wicking extremely well. Is it possible that my battery is outputting too much voltage? And I seem to have vaper's tongue concerning burnt tastes (I can't even taste a cigarette right now) so I'm not sure wether my juice has a burnt taste or not. As of right now, I either suspect my battery or faulty wiring in the heads. With the burnt coil, the coil was wrapped all dead in the center of the wick, no space at all between the wires. I'll say that I'm no fan of "build it myself". I want something that simply works.

All heads get 'gunked up'. How long it takes varies on what you are vaping (darker colored juices seem to do it faster), the wattage you are vaping it at and the resistance of the coil (the overall heat that you are vaping with) and the ratio of the juice that you are using. Kanger sells replacement heads for the Protank. I don't bother rebuilding them, because I like the 1.8 ohm heads running at 8 watts amd at two dollars apiece (roughly) they aren't expensive. With a 50/50, light colored juice, I can get over a week with one. That's about as good as it gets for me. Also, different juices behave in different ways with different atomizers. Seems odd, but it is true. Good luck and have fun!

Sucks because NET's are really about the only juice I feel would work for me - I need to order a few juices as a backup but I really wanted to experience a NET and see if it's really a lot earthlier than most juice offerings. The particular NET I have though is known for being very thin (my particular bottle of it is so thin that it drips out of the dropper) and is a light amber color. I wouldn't think it would clog up a coil on the very first puff; I haven't experienced a single flavor with this tank, just cotton-like vapor and a tinge of maple syrup - literally, the faintest tinge.

Also, I tried playing around with the flavor wicks, but they fell apart, so I just took them out. My tank in particular seems ultra resistant to leaking. It gurgles every now and then, but nothing gets in my mouth, nothing on the battery head, and the bottom plate only ever has a little bit of liquid in it's inner chamber (the 'bowl' looking side) when inspected. Even with barely a wick there, my NET seems like a great juice for preventing leaks, and wicks extremely well (the merest drop of this liquid saturates the entire wick in a second). Just, no flavor.

That being said, I still smoke cigarettes and as of right now, I can't taste the strength of my cigarettes, so I may have vaper's tongue concerning tobacco. Either that, or I need new heads, or the tank is funky, or my battery is outputting too much voltage (which I suspect because it's burning up Blu cartos as well, even when I water-primed them, the ultimate trick), or MOV simply forgot to add the tobacco to my juice and mixed up and gave me a regular very weak maple syrup flavor instead. No other scientific explaination. Everything checks out with my tank pointing toward that I'm doing it right; e.g. a ton of vapor production.
