I use mostly my own DIY juices at about 80pg/20vg with quite a bit of sweetener. I run 2.2 ohm heads at about 3.8-4 volts, and I've found that removing a flavor wick definitely improves the performance for me. I've got 3 Protank 1, a Davide, and a Protank 2. Out of them, I find the Davide has the best performance, but they are all really close. I've also experimented with rebuilding, and have tried cotton wicks and even built a SS mesh head. I set aside my genesis clone, as I can tweak the heck out of the Kanger heads and get a perfect (for me) vape from my Kanger compatible stuff... YMMV. I do know I have 3 VapeOnly BCC's, and I have never been able to get them to work right... constantly spitting juice because it condenses under the drip tip.
