Protank II rubber seal

I have several Protank II's and have been told to remove the little rubber cup that sits just above the wick and turn it upside down or just remove it completely. Has anyone else heard of this??

Have several myself, never had to flip or remove it, but have seen posts from others who have. I did take out my wicks and replace with boiled cotton.....
The only thing that catches me every once in a while is the level of the juice getting low and then the vacuum in the tank stops.....juice on the loose!

I've heard to do that when using 100% VG, to allow the thicker juice to get to the wicks easier. I've never had a reason to do it though.

I use 100 VG only liquids and I never remove it. That cap is part of what keeps the tank sealed. Remove it and you risk flooding and poor results.

Sounds like a good way to get a mouthful of juice. That seal is the only thing that seals the air tube in the center of the tank...

People often remove it because of poor wicking, thinking the cap gets in the way. Sometimes that does in fact work, especially if you've re-wicked with cotton, which is super absorbent.
