Hi all I just recently picked up a protank III and it is leaking somewhere near the wick. I am getting liquid filling into the part where the tank attaches to the battery and some into the moth piece as well. My problem seems to be similar to the issue in the video below. Is this a common problem and is beefing up the wick my only option? I started with 1.5 ml of liquid, vaped maybe 5ml and the remaining liquid leaked out in 4 days.

I've had leaking on my PT3 coils. Usually it is one of 3 things for me.

1) damaged or extra o ring on the bottom of the coil.
If this is the case, just replace the o ring or take the extra one off

2) not tightening down the coil enough
I have found that I really need to tighten the coil to the base a lot more than I would have expected. I don't use pliers or anything like that, but I do have to pinch the coil hard with my fingers to make sure the gasket is not spinning while I am tightening the coil to the base.

3) sometimes the gasket doesn't seal well
If this is the case, turning the gasket upside down generally works for me

It also seems like for some people, for whatever reason, the protanks will always leak. I'm not sure if it is because of the way they vape, or some other reason, but, from what I've seen, for some people they will never work and will always leak.

This is an ugly topic. I have 3 Mini Protank II's and now 2 Protank III's. Both of the PT3's are sitting in my gear box and I'm done with them. Less than a week old and the newest one started acting exactly like the first one - I couldn't let it sit for any length of time or total flooding/gurgling/crap. I'm so ...... at those purchases I can't stand it. I bought the second one thinking the first was a fluke but it just looks like a flaw now.

I gave up on the PT3 coils and use PT2 coils with the wicks removed and replaced with cotton just like I would wick an RB. I also stuff extra cotton on either side where the flavor wicks go so the holes are blocked but there is none over the coil. I assume this would work just as well with the PT3 coils but I dont have the patience to re wick the duel coils. PT2 coils fit in the PT3 just fine but not the other way around.

I had the same issue I bought a 5 pack of atomizers and 3 out of 5 didn't leak . Not sure what the problem is this is my second Pt3 as I thought maybe the first unit was machined incorrectly and wasn't sealing correctly at the atomizer. If it gurgles and you try to blow it out all the juice comes out. think i may go dripping type of setup at least the type of dripping that doesn't waste the juice that is..

Same here. Been through 2 different 5 packs of coils and roughly 30% of them worked correctly. They are still sitting in my box - what a waste of money. I tried an Elego BCC tank and seemed to work better but there is different "flavor" from the tank I'm not fond of. Currently I'm back to cycling through my Mini PTII's, which still work flawlessly so long as the coil is in good shape. I stubbornly ordered a new Aero Tank to give Kanger another shot - been hearing great things about them so we'll have to wait and see...should have some new Good Life juice and my Aero Tank waiting for me when I get home today :)

I fixed my leaking and gurgle issue with my Protanks by using two grommets at the base of the atty that screws into the base of the Protank.

The green line is where the additional grommet should sit. It's a tighter fit screwing the atty into the base but so far I have no leaking or gurgle. Hope this works for you too.

That is because the second grommet/gasket/seal is lifting the Head slightly and adding pressure to the UPPER seal creating a good seal to the upper pipe. This is the most common cause of leaking. Poor seal allowing Air in and liquid out.:)
Same can be accomplished with a second seal or top cup on the coil chimney.
