After tinkering with my PTII i tried pushing the rubber "gasket" that covers the wicks down. Well it seems it had moved up and for the moment, its working very well again.

In my case it was likely user error or simply an accident that went unnoticed. I guess i will try it all day tomorrow and see if im correct or not.

Can I ask what everyone uses to wash their coils out with?

I used to use 90% ISO alcohol with my plain old attys, would that still be alright to use?

Based on what I've read, I am using vodka (ethyl alcohol) just because my local liquor store doesn't carry pure grain alcohol.

Although I CAN get grain alcohol (Everclear) here in NH....it's expensive when you're just using it as a "solvent"!!
I use 100 proof vodka - the cheapest stuff I can find!! When I bought mine, it had been over 20 YEARS since I'd visited a liquor store....
Needless to say...I was taken "slightly" aback when I saw the prices!!! At LEAST DOUBLE what they were 2 decades ago!! Glad I gave up DRINKING the stuff.....!!
To make matters worse....the smallest vessel they had was 750ml!!!!
I now have enough "sauce" to soak coils for at LEAST 10,000 years!!:D

Another failure. The PTII w/evod short coil was leaking into the battery connection again this morning. Ive been so busy with work, ive just not had the time to go over every detail. Thankfully i don't work weekends and i will figure it out even if i have to go back to using the Kanger PTII coils. My only complaint was the airy draw and ive become more tolerant if the vapor is satisfying.

My Kanger T3S has an easy draw (almost airy) also but i love it sofar and its been totally hassle free. Vapor production and flavor is just right for me. Im buying more of them tonite anyway. I wish they made these in glass.

Mines leaked a little on the connector since I got it. Everything I've ever put on that battery has leaked a little, I just dip a paper towel in there and soak it up.... or is it leaking a lot?

Mine ...... me off the other day, I was driving home from an appointment, went to take a little drag, damn thing turned in to a straw, got a mouth full of cinnamon candy juice. Luckily I was on a backroad so I could pull over and throw up a little. I'm just glad I didn't throw it.

I got home tore it apart, cleaned it, threw a new 2.2ohm head in it and filled it with a much mellower bananas foster juice to vape for the rest of the day.

I also learned I can't use the protank 2 for everything, its been fine for the vaporbomb liquids, but is absolutely horrible with nude nicotine, just way too harsh on the lungs, with every resistance head you can buy.

Its leaking to the point the MVP power button light flashes. I think that means a poor connection. Then if i check it, its very wet and gurgling badly. I have to wipe off a tiny bit on some tanks occasionally but this seemed excess considering it was fine when new.

I just took it apart and gave it all a good cleaning/inspection. Then i put in the other coil that came in the box and the juice i used the first week i owned. ATM it seems fine, no hint of a gurgle and taste great. I will see how long it holds up this time. I cant find anything that appears to be wrong.

Oh, damn... I know I have to take mine off every couple hours and wipe down the connector, but I don't think its ever been bad enough to make it stop working. I usually got leaking like that when i used 901 attys

This will depend on e-liquid formulation, amount of vaping done(Tanks per day/week)
Your ability to properly maintain the wicks. Good rinse and learn to dry burn.
People get from a few days to several weeks.
I average 3-4 weeks on a coil, with regular cleaning, before I do something silly and break a coil.

I'm in search of finding out how often protank coils need to be replaced? Thanks!

It all depends on the juice ur using...higher vg and lower ohms tend to last less then say using a 50/50 blend w a 2.5 ohm coil...I've been using mine for over a month so far.

I have several other tanks and not one of them does this, including a few T3Ss. Even the cheap Jomo mini tank knock off works ok and has no leak at all..

When it was new it did not have a problem until i tried a friends high VG DIY juice and the newer "universal" long stem evod/PT coil. I think i tried both the same day but im not sure. I also tried a evod short coil im sure was genuine. Ive made every effort to make sure im getting real Kanger products, they appear to be genuine.

After last nights cleaning and using the extra coil that came in the Kanger box, it seems ok for now. There was a tiny bit of fluid on the connection but im not getting any gurgle yet after several hours of use. I just think its odd that none of my other tanks do this including my T3Ss.

I've had my PT2 for over a month. Use an Evic and SID. Have 2.2ohm coils.
The only time I had any issues was using a 1.8ohm coil that came with the initial tank. After messing with it for several hours, sucking up juice, gurgles, vacuum didn't seem to be effective, burnt coil (URGH!), juice on connection, I switched out the coil to 2.2 and no problems since. I think there's an issue with the rubber ring above the coil stem, that metal "ring" that surrounds the place where you screw in you coil, and the wicks for the 1.8. Using the Kanger brand coils. I don't vape high VG juices, more of the 60/40-70/30 PG/VG, and like a lot of the dark (non-tobacco) and cinnamon flavors.

*I've read that letting your e juice go down below 1/3 of the tank can mess up the vacuum, haven't had this problem.

For what it's worth, I ordered 2 more PT2's Friday. Now that I've trouble shot the first tank, I really like them. You don't have to dump your juice if you need to replace or clean a coil. Hopefully, the replacement parts for the tank itself will be online soon. Haven't found a site yet that has them, but it'll probably be a lot cheaper just getting the parts all at once for back up, than buying new tanks. :thumb:

I bought 5 of each ohm coil they sell, I found I do like the 2.2 the best (so I suppose if anyone likes 1.8's I would be willing to trade for 2.2s :D ).

What's the difference between Langerhans heads and knockoffs? I noticed some have the ohm rating laser engraved, and others don't. It seems the ones that don't have the engraving are the ones giving me problems and burn out quick.

I've been getting the Kanger Tech 2.2ohm in the 5 pck for about $9.00 but haven't been shopping around for better prices. Does Langerhans make coils for PT2?
I just soak the coils, so haven't been stressed about investing in more at the moment

i believe that statement on the bad qc for the pt and pt2. me and my gf both have pt2s and i have had no issues with mine what so ever but hers has been doing th gurgle clog lately. i had that issue with my original pt. i would just shake it, turn up the voltage and burn it off. problem solved.
i switch my coil out when it starts to taste like crap. usually about every 2 weeks. i could take the time and try to clean em and reuse them but for the cost of them, its really not worth it to me. i change hers about every month but she doesnt vape as much as i do
