I have a protank and it's ok. I have had better luck with the vivi nova(smoketech and vision) and the iclear30. if you need glass for your juices then smoktech makes a pyrex 3.5 vivi that comes in various colors. it is much cheaper than the protech and just works better for me.ymmv. I have never had a single problem with the vivis. the coils are easy and cheap to replace(just wish the vision and smoktech coils were interchangeable-they're not). they never leak on me and seem to last awhile. even the plastic ones have replacement tubes for cheap swapping. for someone who has neither the time or inclination to build or mess with wicks and coil wire they are a comfortable and sure way of vaping. for me, if it were too much harder it wouldn't be enjoyable any more it would seem like work or a really hard hobby, and I have enough of those already.

Ok see this is my point. We are using the same heads my 2.2 come In at 2.0 . I know for a Fact that a coil 2.0 can easily do 4v to 4.3 V, and it should do it perfectly fine especially when the dam coil is literally sitting juice. How kanger manages to mess all their bottom coils up is beyond me. It should wick WAY better then a top coil. But it doesn't even compare to a vivi. I am not even a huge vivi fan.

I wonder if it has to do with good vs. bad batches in manufacturing. If I got a good batch I would think they're fantastic - until I got a bad batch. You've got me wanting to try a vivi. I do like a warmer vape, but having to keep the voltage so low in order not to burn prevents that. What's weird, too, is that I've used this same head for about 10 full tanks now, washing it out in between. How long do they last? (Waiting for it to pop and quit now).

My Protank works great on my VAMO. I normally run it at 6 Watts; with heads ranging from 1.5 - 2.5 ohms.

Biggest complaint is that the coils do NOT last long enough (Stock or re-built) Airy draw? I got used to it and kind of like it. No Dry-hits. I always remove 1 of the flavor wicks, or install only 1 small flavor wick on my re-builds. This thing has NEVER leaked for me.

My issues are with the center-pin on the VAMO, but that's for a different forum!!

Hi! Im new as well running to 3 months now without ciggis I tried the protank and the first one I have to send it back cuz its like The leaning Tower of Pisa heheheheh the second one was great until it leaked. I will not recommend this tank id rather use the novas STV.

The Protank is an ok device for beginners - not great. As it comes it is not that awesome a device. You will have to tinker with it a bit to get a really good vape.

A similarly designed but much better device is the eVod.

Protank have a slew of issues that some people have and some people don't have. I have had a bunch. Had to take it off again last night to due extreme burnt flavor all of a sudden. So it's sitting in a drawer until my wick and wire arrive. Rebuilding the coil heads apparently makes it a little better. The draw is too airy which in turn fails to bring juice to the coil as you draw on it. Major flaw of the protank. Even with the flow control it is still very airy. I haven't had much luck using it on anything but a simple ego battery. The power of a Vv/vw Devive just burns the coil no matter what voltage or wattage I have it set to. Last night it really got burned up on the ego and I am lost becuse it was doing well since I received some new heads. But out of no where it really burnt up. Bad enough where I need to throw a new head on it tonight. That head currently on there has maybe 2 hrs of vape time. So it's clear kanger has a massive quality control issue, because everyone is not having the same vape experience and if they were all made the same they would preform the same. It would all come Down to personal preference if they all preformed the same. So if your not into rebuild the coils, and even then not sure if it works that great, I would stay Away grab some vivi novas and some iclear30's and vape on

I have found that 75% of the head replacements I got went bad within a few days. I love the Protank so I rebuilt my own using 32g kanthal and cotton. Now I run a few tanks of juice through it and just rebuild it for fun when I swap juices, costs me something like 5 cents to rebuild and tastes much better than silica. But that's just, like my opinion, man.

Like everyone one has said on here, it is hit or miss about the Protank. I have 2 of them and one works really well and the other has a bad metal taste to it. I am running one right now on my Vamo and it is good. It has never leaked. Sometimes I can get a couple of days out of the heads and other times they will burn up within an hour. I was running at 7w but I have bumped it down to 5.5w now and it seems to be doing ok. I don't think it gives you the full flavor you should be getting either. I do have the Pyrex 3.5 vivi coming tomorrow so I will see how it works. More than likely my Protanks will be a back up til I figure something else out with them.

Another vote on the plus side for the Protank. I've been using my original Protank for three weeks and am still on the original head. I bought a second one two weeks ago and it too is still on the original head. I run a full tank on each one every day. I like the airy draw and the vapor is warm, not hot, which I like too.

By you making the above statement in your post I can inform you with 100% confidence to stay away from the protank. Its a way to airy and cool vape for me. On top of that the taste is pretty muted IMO. My protank will only be used for cinnamon flavored juice and on a limited basis. I really am displeased with it. My protank is sitting at home while one of my vivi nova's is on top of my vamo. But its all personal preference. Some love love the protank and some hate it (as this thread proves).

But if you know you dislike the cold vapor from a bottom coil, don't even look at a protank.

the vapor is warm, not hot, which I like too.

You must be vaping directly in that hot Texas sun to get any kind of warm vapor from a protank

At this point, I use nothing but Protanks. Broke my first one a couple of days ago, too. What a waste of good juice.

Going to order a couple more at the end of the month.

I have been using the Kanger T3 for a few weeks now and it is really easy to use. Have not had any issues with it. I have a vivi nova that I have had issues with since I changed the coil. I liked it dont get me wrong but as soon as I changed the coil it became a pain. It was leaking on the bottom. I took it in to have it looked at I was told it was a manufacturer mistake: the rubber seal in the bottom with the holes did not punch all the way, the young man took it apart and took out the rubber bits that didnt get punched out, it worked fine until I went to change the coil again.. back to square one. Again I like it but I dont know if I should just order a new one and try my luck again or give up and stick with the T3. The bottom coil is easy to change. I have 2 1000 c ego twist batteries I use and I love them. Protank or stick with T3, new mini vivi nova or T3? LOL see thats my problem.

Well, I guess I'm just very unlucky. I've dropped my Protank on concrete twice and it "exploded" both times. However, I have found out that you can buy replacement tanks at CigTechs.com, and have been a customer. They also make a stainless Tatroe Tank that fits the base and coil of the Protank. It's on the list. They also have the Tatroe bases which fit the eVic, Provari, and Sigelei. I need all three of those. With my granite counter tops, I'm knocking my APV's over all the time. Lost two eVic's that way. On my third. Slow learner I guess. Anyway, thank you for sharing. Try the evod coil/head in the Protank to tighten up the draw, or cover up an airhole. I love the Protank, but the eVod is my goto topper now. Best...

1 of the 2 coils was junk when I got it, but the nice folks at Vaporbeast said they'd send me another one to replace it.
I've also gotten the strange metallic taste from time to time.
I also get the burnt taste upon occasion if I turn the wattage up above 5.5.
The vape quality has been generally good, but I do have to poke around the power settings depending on the juice I'm using. I think that might have something to do with my trying my hand at DIY juices.
The strangest part is that the juice seems to taste best when I get to the bottom 1/3 of my tank. I am anxious to try rebuilding the wick/coil myself and see what that might do for me.

I use my protanks on my vamo, and have very little leaking issue. Though I rewicked all of my coils with cotton before I even tried it with the silica, since I am not a fan of silica wick. I only get a burnt taste after a week of use, but I also make my wicks long.

I like my protanks. They are plug and play and great to bring to places that I don't want to risk my expensive setups. The flavor is a bit muted but I compensate by using the few flavor boosted juices I have. They are easy to rebuild and you can make your heads last very long this way. Just take care of the soft positive post insulator and you won't need new heads any time soon. There are many good tutorials on this forum on how build the heads.

Replace the silica with cotton and your good to go.
