Decided to move from a splitfire to a Kanger Protank (new coils/heads were tasting burnt on one and didnt like the draw going heavy until the end of fill where it freed up). Ordered 2 as from what I saw, reviews were great and I like alternating flavours so as I dont get broed. Used a blueberry in my 1st one and not a bother...vapes like a beast, all good there so opened my second and filled it with a friends Watermelon (he was having issues with it and wanted me to taste it see if I saw the same) - rancid is all I can say...but I am not sure if it was the juice.
I noticed a pretty vicious aftertaste...messed about with Wattages on my eVic thinking maybe I was burning it (this is what he though was happening with his CE2 type clearo) but could not get flavour dialled in so I put down to rank liquid. So I washed out and dry burned the wicks til they were odourless and put in Jacvapours PG Vanilla flavour...what the deuce??? Still got the same aftertaste!!! It tasted almost like spray glue or cellulose thinners something, i dunno.
When I started thinking that [spray glue] was the taste, I realised the display box it came in (leather/foam lined box - not the cardboard one...didnt request this specially or anything) was reeking of this smell so I am thinking that this smell has bleached my atty parts somehow and it would seem it has. No ammount of scalding has been able to get it of the plastic ring that sits over the coil/wick (and i am thinking it is also in the bottom grommit then that holds the resistance wire). Did anyone else get this issue? The 1st box smelt similar but not as strong and now that I think about it, i get the taste coming through no my blueberry juice too.
Anyone have good recommendations for cleaning and deodorising these? I have smelt the replacement head box too (got some to have spare - not a rebuilder yet) and it also has a mellow tang of this glue/thinners smell (heads are wrapped though so dont know if they will stink!)
