Are you guys finding a difference between the two? The protank ones just seem to have a larger pole. On my recent order I seemed to get them instead of the EVOD replacement coils which is what I ordered.

Anyway, the resistance is the same but the performance is garbage. Did I just get a bunch of duds or what's going on? I managed to find an older EVOD coil to use until my next order comes in. Same resistance, but much better.

FYI I don't have a protank yet, but the protank coils fit the EVOD just fine. There's just... no throat hit and vapor production is crap. 1.8 ohms on 3.7 V should be fine... the EVOD has been so good to me until now :)

Arrrg I hate it when new gear is lacking in performance. I go mental trying to figure out what's wrong. I've been in vape heaven for the past three months... now my latest order has thrown everything out of whack. Even my juice seems to be less potent and waxy tasting. Been sucking away making my tougue numb and getting no TH. Sigh...

The larger pole/post is about the only difference that I noticed. Mind you I rebuild my EVOD/Protank coils. It`s a very easy process and when I rebuild I`m using hemp (12 strand). Lasts way longer without issues, tastes better, holds up the the heat better and I can also customize my coils to whatever ohms I want.

I think the demand for these heads is so high that they are being produced in many diff' places with many varying components to meet the demand. It makes it harder for us all, as what worked best last time around no longer does it for us this time 'round. It's a crap shoot as to what you'll get from order to order.

Different wire, diff' wicking material, diff' amounts of wicking material, each make huge differences in how the unit vapes.
The different chimney sizes, in my view make little difference in the quality of vape and I think the manufacturers will use whatever they can get. At least we can swap out one chimney for another easily enough, it's the other components that will make it or break it for us, as well as QC standards of course.

Many like the 1.8ohm heads so I tried some and didn't like them but it may be more where and who and how they're made than simply the ohm rating on them. The 2.5ohm heads are what I like most but the last order of 10 I received ohm'd out between 2.7 and 3.0 ohm. It may not seem like a big difference but when it comes down to the vape it is huge.

Getting a crappy vape outta something that was once great is a real bummer and leaves you feeling let down and without a good vape. Hope our "luck of the draw" is better next time around. Cheers.:vapor:

Probably a stupid questions but are you able to check the atty ohms with your unit/a multimeter?
Are they genuine kanger heads?

I did, that's what drives me so mental. My multimeter is a bit of a POS, but they all seemed ok to me. No burnt taste either, so wicking was fine. Just like... no vapor. Have to suck suuuuper slow. Like a 15 second pull and even then the TH isn't what it used to be.

I still have one good coil on there now, an old EVOD head. I also get that sometimes you have to break in a new atty before it performs well... but I gave a ProTank replacement head plenty of seat time on my PV and I just had to switch it out. They have to be duds. Ah well, new order expected to come tonight so we'll see how my luck fares.

Could pop the post off, take those two little top/wicks right out, and have a look at the coils in there. Maybe move em around a bit, even em out/push em down if they're touching the post when it goes back on.. see if it does anything. def sounds like time to start rebuilding your own coils. it's really easy just need some kanthal which you can get cheap over at TEMCo Industrial Power Supply with free shipping, then just use 100percent organic cotton balls for wick.

vid i made on how to rebuild if needed.

even try to just pull all the wicks out on these ones, grab a cotton ball and form some of it into a wick, string it through, cut the ends just like original heads, wet the wicks and coils with juice, replace post, give a few dry pulls/let it sit for a few minutes, and give it a try.
