I'm a pretty new vaper here, and I was just wondering if someone who has used both the protank and the T3 could give me some input on whether or not the protank is an improvement on flavor and or vapor from the T3? I really like my T3 so far, it seems to work great, but I've heard that some juices can crack them. I was just curious as to whether the no cracking was the only bonus, or if the protank actually delivers a bit more flavor as well?

Oh yes and another quick question too regarding the protank. I've read that you're not supposed to use them above the posted voltage/wattage for your particular head. How strict is that? With my T3 (I use an eVic) I get a suggested wattage of 5.2 at 2 ohms in my T3, but I tend to run it about 5.7. It just adds to the vapor a little, and brings out the flavor a bit more in some juices. I'm just wondering if I run the protank a bit hotter, will it mess up the glass or something?

Welcome , but you may as well stick with your T3 , as the Protank is essentually the same device , with a bit larger tank . I have both , and run both of them alittle high on the wattage . A lot of people have related issues , with breaking tanks , and such . But I haven't heard anyone complaining about breaking a T3 Your wallet , your choice .

I haven't heard too many stories about the tank breaking (unless dropped...after all...the tank is glass) although there was one gentleman who claimed the the glue holding the tank to the body failed. There certainly haven't been any issues with juice breaking the tank...just people dropping them.

There are pros and cons to both. The Protank is easier to fill IMO and easier to rebuild and is more aesthetically pleasing but it is a bit airy and you can't use your own drip tips (although rumor has it they're coming out a new version without the proprietary tip). It's also more expensive than the T3.

I'm not a huge clearomizer fan and I've tried quite a few including the T3 but I really like the Protank and it, for me, has delivered better flavor than any of the others I've tried by quite a large margin.

As for the voltage...no, you're not going to mess up the tank by running a slighter higher voltage but there is always the chance you could fry the coil but then you could rebuild it or just throw in a new one. If you do decide to run a higher voltage I recommend taking the coil apart and removing the top wick to help with juice flow.

might be prudent to name the obligatory EVOD, basically the same as the protank altough holds less juice.
some people have complained of a plastic like taste out of the t3 and evod tho, the protank is just clean taste and no hassle but its not too too pocket friendly.

and about the glue holding the body of the protank failing, yes it can happen i have seen it first hand. did not happen to me but it did happened to a freind. he ordered out of electronicstix and they went above and beyond the call of duty and replaced it.

No experience with the T3's. but I ordered a protank a few weeks back based on all the positive reviews it had. And honestly it's a bit hyped up. I love the aesthetics of it and the fact that its Pyrex. What really got me was the fact that it was a bcc. So less of the nasty fiberglass wicking. Here's what I found: very light draw, needed to soak over night in light vinegar/h2o solution to remove metallic taste ( not too much vinegar cause it'll eat away at the silicone adhesive) but the biggest issue has been the reduction of flavor. I keep trying several ways to cure the issue but nothing has worked (ie removing top wick and switching to a evod head w the kanger tube). I simply want it to work.
I don't understand how so many folks don't have this flavor issue. I guess I am just used to the vivi's. but hate the wicks.

The 5.2 Watts, is what the eVic recommends, regardless of the resistance of the clearomizer you put on it, it's just something Joyetech added for some odd reason - maybe some sort of "play it safe". It's not a dynamic value.
I've enjoyed Protanks with Liqua e-liquid at about 6.5-7 Watts.

I vote protank. I used plastic clearos for a while, and by far prefer the protank. I have 2 more on order to have more flavors to swap between. To me it tastes better, lasts longer (none have broken down on me or had to be rebuilt yet, but they also don't seem to gunk up anywhere near as fast as any of the clearos I've used), and I like the idea of glass a lot more than plastic.
