Protank worth it?

I can't say enough positive things about the Protank. Capacity, performance and ease-of-use are all rock solid.

That said -- yes, the draw on it is a little airy compared to just about any carto out there, particularly Boge LRs. No more so than any other Kanger device I've tried -- the T3, especially, had just about exactly the same airy draw. The Protank, however, knocks the T3's socks off when it comes to performance and reliability.

I bought 3 of them in one go.
Hated them from the moment I started using them.
Too airy, not great with the taste.
Sold them all and just stick to my iClear 30 tank now.

I have two. I fixed the airy draw by blocking a couple of the air holes. Use them every day.

I rotate from the Protank to the Vivi Nova and to cartomizers regularly, but the Protank is growing on me. All three have their pluses and minuses. The Protank is good for juices that are harsher in the other two since it seems to even out the juice and produces a little less of the harshness of certain juices. A carto is still the best in flavor and throat hit, followed closely by the Vivi Nova.

All three are a big part of my vaping experience.

I'm enjoying mine a lot. No leaking or bad gurgling so far (my T3's were awful for that). I may try to fix the airy draw at some point, as I've been fiddling with just closing half the airholes with my finger, and like the draw better that way. I have some Evod heads, so maybe I'll try swapping the head out.

I don't like mine, I have a good friend that won't use anything else. So guess it boils down to personal taste.

I know I way overpaid for it because I had to have it right now. But it is soooooooooo worth it.
Some people say they require a little work and they are kinda tempramental but
hitting the vapes with he glass oh nice....

Not for me. The Protank is WAY to airy, the flavor is muted, and I got no heat off the vape at all. If you like the warm vape most cartos provide, I doubt you'll like the Protank.

At first i wasn't a HUGE fan because of the coil/wick combo, swapped it out for a cotton wick with sylica top and its just Fantastic.

Like to see what rev 2 would be like.

We all have some juices around that are too strong, too harsh, or too something that affects the taste. Try some of those in the Protank. Yes, it can mute some juices just like the Vivi Nova as compared to a carto. I started out saying the same things about airy, muted taste, and slowly began to realize that it's just the way a particular juice works in a particular atomizer.

If you have some Cowboy juice, Hunter's Blend, or Wyatt Earp juice that you tried once and it knocked your socks off, it may the one of the ones you actually like in a muted atomizer. Experiment.

I'm surprised at all the folks saying great flavor. I got mine last weekend and so far it seems like this thing is cutting flavor in half or more compared to CE4/5 clearos. I took a wick out using Phil Brusario's YouTube video review of the ProTank, and that is helping a little, but I'm wondering if maybe my generic ego batteries just aren't giving it enough voltage or if there's something else I'm not doing right.

Depends on the power output of your generic eGo. I find I use my Protank at higher voltage on my/a VV device than any other clearo/tank.
For example, if I put my Protank on my 3.3v Joye tube mod, I think I'd find it very, very depressing. Mostly, to get a good vape out of it, I'm at well over 4.0v all the time. I find that "unusual" to say the least, I can happily vape on a Nova or Evod at 3.5 volts on my eVic.

Weird. I have no explanation yet. ???

I checked my batts with an old analog multimeter and they read about 3.8-3.9V. Your post really makes me happy, cuz I want to love his tank, and I just happen to have ordered a VV battery last night.

Edit: also, all the cores included with the ones I bought say 2.5 ohms, but I haven't tested them. It's supposed to come with a 1.8 an a 2.4 according to the box, but I've heard of other folks getting random cores with the newer cardboard packed kits.

I have two boxes of evod "cores/atomizers" which I will use in both evod and protank. They are rarely exactly the resistance stated, but not far off. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine. Just crank it up if it's not powerful enough.

The flavor is great compared to the mt3 only major downside is I have to cut my from 18 to 12 to much vapor lol.

I was just curious if you guys think the pro tank is worth it over cartomizers?

No, No, No, No. I bought three a couple of weeks ago. None work now. One leaked air (leaked fluid) out of the box. (bad factory seal) the other two broke off at the base after my Itaste MVP fell over an entire 3 inches.
You sound like Darth Vader when vaping due to the air draw.
You have to draw on it two to three times to have a good a hit as a nice low ohm drip atomizer.

I havent found a good tank that draws well, hits hard, tastes good and doesnt have to be trashed due to burning or discoloring juice.

Any real suggestions to a great tank of any kind ? I wont be bothered by rebuilding.

Excellent tank for the price, i use it for out and about vaping and it's amazing imho.

I have the iclear30, vivi nova and protank. I have to say i like the draw on the protank the best.
