I recently bought a Siegeli Zmax V3 telescope mod after my 510 AA box mod of 2 years bit the dust, and decided this was a good a time as any to drag myself out of 2009 regarding vaping equipment.:)

I have been vaping since 2009 and full time since May 2010 but i'd still class myself as a new member as i pretty much stuck with the 510 AA Box mod and disposable atties for the past 4 years and never really progressed from there. I've been searching the forum but am completely overwhelmed with 3+ years of new info and am a bit confused regarding 18650 batteries and wondered if someone could help me.

I bought this bundle from Vapegear
Sigelei Zmax

I think these are the batteries i got with the bundle and they last a good day and a half for me.

I read that the Panasonic ones are good $10.03 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
but i wasn't sure whether i needed protected or unprotected. They will be used exclusively in the ZMAX.

cheers

The CGR18650CH is a hybrid chemistry battery which doesn't require the same level of protection as a lithium ion battery, as it will only heat up should a short occur, just like IMR batteries. It is high drain, which is optimal for a VV/VW device, and should work well in the Zmax. Additionally, I believe the Zmax has built in protection circuitry as well.

Welcome to the quantum leap from the 510 to the Zmax!
