I ordered the Protege with the 510 Atomizer

What extra's do I need, like 510 Carts, I think I saw somewhere, someone was selling Pre-made Tea Bag Carts, but now I can't remember who that was.

Trying to figure out what extra's I will need to make my vaping experience a good one

Thanks for any advice, I'm so excited about vaping :p

Cignot is selling tea bag blanks like you were talking about...I've got them on my wish list so I can't tell you how good they are.....BUT, a bunch of the 'oldtimers' swear by them.

If you are going to refill your own cartridges, you'll be getting smoke juice. I advise -- if you aren't made of money, get the strongest nicotine flavor you can find, then mix it with PG or VG (it's a LOT cheaper than juice).

Example; I've got 24mg tobacco flavor from Cignot. I believe it costed me $12 for 20ml.
I bought 15ml of PG/VG (that's 80/20) and mix it with the tobacco flavor for $3....effectivly turning my 24 mg into 15 mg.............and..........it turns my 20 ml bottle into a 35ml for $3 dollars more.

Here, left me make this mess easier:
20ml of juice (is 24mg nicotine)...with 15ml of PG= 35ml of tobacco juice for only three bucks more.

Well... the first thing that I would suggest, is that you make sure that you have a few extra atomizers on hand. You can always get by without a cart by dripping, but if you have a dead atty and no spare, you're totally out of luck. If you haven't been told yet, atomizers only have a limited life, and you can't really predict what it's going to be. You may get lucky and have one last you a few months, or it may only last a few days. On the other hand, carts will last indefinately. Simply change the material you are using (tea bags, fluval, polyester filling, your husbands old socks, whatever!!!) and away you go. I personally, am using polyester filling that I get at Walmart (Really cheap!!!) when I use a cart at all. I'm pretty much dripping exclusively these days. If you ordered the full kit, you won't have to worry about batteries for a while, but they too will eventually wear out, and you'll find yourself charging them more frequently. Last but certainly not least, is your liquid. There's not much worse in the world of vaping than running out of liquid on a Friday afternoon, knowing that your order from your favorite supplier won't get looked at until Monday morning. and then you have a 2 to 3 day wait on top of that! So make sure that you are stocked up with whatever you like best!
I know that this sounds like a lot to digest all at once, but it really isn't. Eventually, this will all be second nature to you, just like making sure that you didn't run out of analogs used to be for many of us.
So welcome to the world of vaping!!! I hope that your journey will be a plesant one, and that you'll meet some friends along the way.

Thanks for the help, I would not have known to get an extra atomizer
I did think it would last  So I'm guessing any 510 attomizer will do then.

Yes Cignot that is the one, I wanted to try it, thank you!!

I just got thru watching the video's on how to top off and to drip, its all starting to make since now, and yes it seems overwhelming...

Hopefully by the time it gets here I wont' be clueless

Thanks

Definitely get extra attys (I'm told it's best to use one for a day and then "rest" it for a day), and don't assume they're all alike. I've got some BE510s that I don't like as well as my Joyes, although that may change if they ever get broken in.

Also, think about 901 carts as well as 510s. They fit, and they hold more liquid. And if you're going with white e-cigs, the 901's come in "filter" color (and the attys tend to come with white 510 blank carts, so you can use different liquids for different carts and know which is which).

I prefer a "straw mod" with stock polyfill on my 901s, and PTB (hand stuffed, I don't know how Cignot's are) for my 510s. But that's just me.

Deffinately extra attomizers. cash posted in the PS forum he will be having some stainless colored atty's (verses the stock black) If color matching is a style issue, might want some when they are available also...now who makes a stainless colored tip :) Oh, the new ones are also Low Bridge so worth trying just for that if what you have currently is a High Bridge type.
(I am all for different things being better for different people!)

Also either juice, or prefilled carts, or both.

If you have never tried different tip types, ie round, flat, whistle tips I'd suggest trying them out. I started with the rounds that came with my 510, and recently got 10 of the flat ones from Nhaler and we (wife and I) simply LOVE them.

Also while the 2 14500 batteries the ptotoge comes with will likely last a while as it only uses 1 at a time, it cant hurt to gave a few spares as if they go down, you are in trouble. Hellen A. Handbasket found a sweet deal and I am reposting her link here: TrustFire Protected 14500 3.7V 900mAh Lithium Battery [TrustFire] - $2.68 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! she also got us a discount code for 10% off the allready great price: HELLENECF10 (Thanks again Hellen!)

Flavors, try some!

If you want to try mixing your own, then some diy supplies.

Also if you do try several flavors, a drop or 2 of 5o/50 pg/vg will help to clear out the old flavor rather well.

I am also awaiting 2 protoge's here, I hope you enjoy yours!

every atty is steel under the paint..

what i do is take an old non-working 510 battery, attach to it the atty i want to make steel, put the l.e.d. end of the battery in my drill, take something like sand paper (file, steel wool) and turn the drill on. From here it pretty obvious what to do.

You could do it without a drill, but its really hard without a battery, because thats something to hold on to.

i use a less abrasive approach. 190 proof pure grain alcohol one scratch and i can scrape the stuff off. i cover the holes to prevent paint from getting in it.

tools required
1. bowl or small dish
2. tweezers
3. the 190 grain

Pre-work steps
steps fill bowl
cover holes with some forum of cotton wading temp
place a simple scratch in the paint down to the steel

Work
1.place atty in filled bowl wait 20 secs
2.use the side of the tweezers to scrape the paint off.
3.run hot running water over atty
Repeat 1-3 (clean and remove all paint from surface)

Tips:
alternate between using the bowl and running water after scrape sessions
always scrape after bowl soak.
