I'm going nuts. I've only been a vaper for about 10 days and I want all the PV's. I can't help myself. This is too much fun and I've almost cast caution to the wind.

But in doing some homework I've narrowed down my next purchase to either the Protege or the Little Chuck. I'd love to have some opinions here about each of them. I choose these because they not only get good reviews but they're small and my hands are small. I don't know jack about batteries, etc., so I need to be spoken to in elementary terms. I'd like a PV that has a good battery life and good vapor. I'd appreciate all the opinions I can get.

Honestly, as you're looking for 3.7v vaping, you'll be happy either way. Both use batteries that last far longer and are more consistent than you're used to. I doubt you'll see any noticeable difference in vaping. What it'll come down to is price and convenience vs personalization.

The protege is cheaper and you can get it as a package with the batteries and charger you need. The chuck is made to order out of heavier materials (though I doubt you'll find someone to drop theirs to test durability) and can be customized to be one of a kind. In both cases it's all about what you're looking for outside of actually puffing on the thing.

(and I went with a custom chuck)

If you're going to stick to 3.7v then why not go with an AdapteveR, Screwdriver, Super T, etc? Super T and AdapteveR will give you an option to move up to 6v if you choose to do so later. They're both all mechanical (no soldered connections to worry about).

I'd go with the AdapteveR if you want something small and reliable... but that's just my opinion :)

I was looking for performance and a nice aesthetic look that's why I choose and recommend The Chuck. 5 months down the line when the novelty of how well it works is over do you want a plain steel tube or something with unique color and/or a design of your choice?

I'll be sporting my mirror black, emerald illusion green, and Thundercat chucks for for a long time and in style.:D

The Protege and Little Chuck are both great PVs. Either one would do you well.

I went with the Chuck for myself. Size wasn't much of an issue, and I like the fact that I can bump it up to 6v later if I want. I also liked the fact that I could personalize it, so my Chuck is uniquely mine.

It ships today! Behold the Serenity Chuck!

I think I like the looks of the Protege best. Maybe. Need more pros and cons of each.

I cannot speak of the protege bacause I do not have one, but as far as the Little Chuck, here are my reasons, not in any order:

1. One year warrantry
2. Better conductivity, less voltage drop, because it is built entirely of Brass and copper.
3. Nice knurled endcap, easier to remove than trying to grab the thin one on the protege.
4. Customizable - color and or graphics
5. Hand made, attention to detail.

These are just reasons I can think of over the protege. Some may apply to others, but others will have more reasons.

Good luck in your choosing!

I got my Chuck today, and I'm completely stoked about it. I'd be even more stoked if the batteries I ordered had arrived as well. Grrr.

Well, as someone suggested, I'm going to get a couple of non-rechargeable CR123A batteries and try out my Chuck at 6V. It should let me get some use out of it until my 18650 batteries show up.

That being said... this thing looks awesome. It fits well in my hand, it's got a nice weight to it, and with the personalized graphics, it looks awesome, of course. It's a very solid unit, and I believe it would hold up well to being dropped on solid concrete. (Not that I would drop my Chuck to test it.. I might scratch the wonderful finish!) I may order a Little Chuck later, but I'm not convinced I need to go that small. I could seriously conceal a Little Chuck completely in my hand, so it may be great for stealth vaping. I do have big hands, though.

I'm going to do a written review later of my experience with the Chuck at 6v. Should be interesting.
