The voltage of whatever USB interface you're using runs, which is typically ~4.2v for computer USB, and 5v for powered USB (the kind you plug into the wall). It is recommended that you run via powered USB vs. computer due to the slim possibility of damage to your PC should the passthrough short. If you get a stand-alone USB source, be sure it can supply a minimum of 1000mA.

cool...thanks for letting me know bout this...sorry for hijacking the thread...still unsure bout the passthru tho if its not gonna last?

The longevity will depend on how often you insert/remove the adapter. Since the Protege is the only "mod" I own, I insert/remove at least once a day - I do not know if that is more than usual, usual, or less than usual.

If I had another Protege body or any another commercial mod, I would leave this adapter inserted all the time to prevent the wear and tear.

Puresmoker could have developed a screw-in type adapter with a mini-USB plug. However, I think that doing so would have made the market price much higher. For the price-point of the current design ($30), I think it is fine.
