I ordered one because I wasn't going to pay $250 for a Hana, which in my opinion is less attractive than the XPV. And all the others seem to be more expensive than that. And the clones so far are crap.

Got a few Cana mods on the the way (Cloudpor third revision with no logo, new 510). The reviews I've seen online seem pretty promising. I'd say its worth a gamble for £40

The body (black) is anodized aluminium and the trim (grey) is Alumide (Nylon/Aluminium Compound) as the Trim is 3D printed. The trim doesn't look or feel 'plastic-y' in person. The pictures on the site make it seem larger than it is, as it is actually smaller in person the alumide looks different (hard to explain haha). If I was to compare it to something it is somewhat reminiscent of the rough cut side of a cement block. The only plastic part is the button.

Each to their own I guess :) . You really should get a regulated device! Mechs are great for rda's/looking fancy/blowing clouds, but the voltage drop is very noticeable on a higher ohm coil. When i'm out and about I use a tanka nd I want the hits to be constant like if I was smoking a cigarette.

Mhead is talking about a Reo. Just a little different than your average mechanical with an RDA. Everything you like about dripping without having to drip.

Oh and thanks for the info about the alumide. Didn't know about that. I thought it was plastic too.

I am fully aware that the device isn't all plastic. I have been following this thread since the beginning and am somewhat impressed with what I have read and seen of it. I think maybe I should've said that in my original post. What I meant was when I see pics of it I can't help but see all the plastic parts. They just stick out like a sore thumb to me. Maybe it's just the black and grey color combo that it seems so polarized on. Like I said, I didn't mean to ruffle anyones feathers or hurt anyones feelings here, was just giving an observation that I've pondered since it was released. I hope to see one out here in the wild someday. I have never owned a regulated device but have always wanted one in my collection. I have tossed around the idea the XPV would be the one for me. One never knows was though...

Hope you get to see one up close. I wasn't sure what to expect waiting for mine. But I'm impressed with it. It doesn't look cheap at all. The clip and other parts don't look like plastic. I showed it off at the B/M yesterday and they were impressed with it also. My Magneto is used at home for dripping. I prefer regulated and the KFL when I out and about. I drive a truck so no time for dripping. No feelings hurt here everyone likes what they like and I'm good with it.

I'm having a problem with my Protovapor. I plugged in the charger (was about half empty) and the battery indicator suddenly went empty even though its got charge.

Tried pulling cable out and putting back down and letting it shut off, any ideas?

My battery indicator acted up on me once when I plugged in the charger. I fired it with the cable still attached and the indicator came back to life.

order #695 here. protovapor contacted me yesterday to confirm my shipping address (different than my CC billing adress) and my date of birth for age verification. I asked if that meant it would be shipping soon. They replied "as you know, we dont give shipment updates, but look out for a usps notification next week :)" So that means it should be shipping out next week. It's been a lot longer than the original lead time at this point, though. This is day 60, of 35-40 days stated lead time. Not too happy about that, but excited to finally get my mod.

Nice. I'm 715, maybe mine will squeak into next week also. Fingers crossed.

How about some gratuitous pictures:

uw6gjey.jpg

The black one on the left has been in service and used every day since mid-January.

The only cosmetic flaw she's accumuated that's noticeable to the naked eye is a small scar. I have no idea how this happened:

Y75xoqK.jpg

The silver one is her back-up. She arrived early in June. She's seen relatively little use so far. She's clicky while the black one is smooth. Perhaps it's just what I'd gotten used to over a period of months, but I think I prefer smooth.

The only mods I have any interest in anymore other than my XPVs are a few exceptionally unique bottom-feeders. :D

I have an all Black DNA 20, but that Silver is sexy...

#666, ordered 21 April, arrived today. I have been building all kinds of different coils to see what works best in my RDAs.

As for tanks...my Fogger v4 works great with my standard build (dual 28ga micro coils, 2.0 OHMs each, .9 OHMs installed). Best flavor and vapor I've ever gotten out of it!

I'll give it a few days and post my opinions after I give it a thorough test.image.jpg

I know, it's a low res photo...I'll post a better image of it later.

I gotta say: My angst with the USPS over the poor tracking provided by the courier service that both Protovapor, as well as myself, entrusted with an expensive item, is far more relevant to the XPV thread, than some guy who's obviously perfect, and feels the need to make judgement on others. I could swear I smell an internet troll, lurking just there, in the background here...... ;)

Expensive item? Expensive in comparison to what? I guess it was not expensive enough to have shipped through a means that provides reliable tracking.

You may smell a troll, get your nose adjusted - there are more lurking!

It was suggested above that one could just skip over the meaningless post. Actually I'll just skip the entire thread after this post and find the data I was looking for elsewhere.

Enjoy your new XPV!!!!

So on the Protovapor site when you purchase the clip option it is labeled as such "XPV Removable Clip Option"...How do I go about removing it without separating the 510 connector from thhe base?
It has a split (cut?) in it that lets you pass the wires through after you temporarily deform it a bit.
