I'm 889, so that gets my notice somewhere around the week of the 4th... gonna have to change my shipping addy, I think, with the delays in getting stuff to military mail, I think I'll be in the States when it actually ships.

Thanks for your service, mnealtx. I'm an ex-navy (Bubblehead) vet myself. Protovapor's customer service appears to be EXTREMELY responsive (based on both my personal experience, and experiences mentioned on earlier posts in this thread). I'm sure that they'll have no problem changing your order's delivery address on the fly. It would truly stink to have to have it forwarded to you, especially with military mail!!!

Still liking my XPV. I don't see any problems popping up. Do we have a great mod or is it just that there's not very many of us? Or both?

I would say that there are lots who have them that don't post, but definitely not as plentiful as a lot of other mods. I'm hoping to have mine around the end of next week if they're still on schedule.

Yes, we have a great mod. IMO, it remains the best designed, most useful conventional mod around. There's nothing I'd rather run an RTA like a Kayfun on.

However, recently I find myself using my bottom-feeders more than my RTAs, which means the my XPVs aren't getting as much love as they used to.

I don't NEED two XPV's, but I want one in another color with the new 510 connector.

Tell me I'm not crazy...

If you need someone to come over and hug your XPV's, I'm available one out of every four weekends. :p

How many of us NEED most of the gear we buy?

I assure you they get some loving more often than every four weeks. ;)

I had a minor issue. The ohm checker stopped showing the ohms. It was still working but would only show 0.00. So I opened it up and unplugged the battery for a minute. I put the bottom back on but when I put the screws in the top they sparked. If I tightened them the board shut down. I was afraid I was doing damage to the DNA. But it came back up when I removed the top. I removed the bottom again and checked the wires and moved them a little. This time I put the top on first. I guess I had a wire out of place because it worked this time. Everything with the DNA seems ok. It charged and is working fine as far as I can tell. The reset got the ohm checker working again and the board is working noticeably faster than it was. So if you open it up be careful when you put it back together.

I was looking at the inside and it looks to me that with a little redesign of the bottom this could have a removable battery without the screws. You wouldn't have the charger. But ability to switch batteries would be a selling point for some. Wonder if Protovapor has thought about this.

This is just a guess on my part but since there is no reverse battery protection they probably went that way to prevent possible problems with batteries being inserted the wrong way which will fry the chip.

An easily removeable battery would be fantastic, but personally, I would not trade the on-board charger for a removeable battery.

I've thought about and it would be nice. But then I'd have to start carrying an extra battery on the go instead of plugging in my phone charger if needed. It was just a random thought anyway.

I just thought I'd pop in and give an update. I got mine about a month ago (order #715) and it's been nothing but awesome. Occasionally when it wakes from sleep it will give me a "check battery" or "weak battery" message, which it has done from the very first time I fired it. It doesn't always do it, I'd say 50% of the time. I emailed Protovapor the day I got it and expressed my disappointment to be getting error messages on a brand new device, but they told me that it's completely normal for DNA devices to show a quick error message when waking from sleep and it was nothing to worry about. I've had no issues with the function of the device, it's worked great with everything I've used on it. I just got a Fogger v4.1 (4th version of v4) and it's the topper that I've been looking for to pair with my XPV. It keeps up easily at 25W+ and gives amazing vapor production compared to my KFL+. Anyway, cheers guys, and vape on.

Just got my shipping notice. Order #853 placed on 6/13. Lead time when I placed my order was 25 to 30 business days. It's 30 business days on the nose. Hopefully I'll have this around the end of the week. :)

I received my Protovapor XPV yesterday. I'm loving it, especially the spring loaded 510 connector. If any older owners are on the fence about whether the upgrade is worth it, I would say absolutely worth every penny.

I will post a pic in a few days when I get one taken.

Now that's sweet looking. I think I'd see about getting a set of black screws for it.

Oooooo... I missed that it's now spring loaded - excellent.
It's beyond all realms of comprehension that any modern PV wouldn't have that feature these days.

For those still waiting, order #877 just shipped out.

Only 11 behind you, this is good news !
Love my VaporSharks but it's getting real old swapping them around a few times a day.
