No don't have a long 510 to 510 but just received my next email reply from Protovapor and they gave me two more things to try.If it still shows the "check atomizer" message after that they want me to send it in and they are covering shipping AND putting in the new connector for FREE.

You can not beat Protovapor CS they are absolutely TOP NOTCH.Now back to my failed XPV and try these next steps.

That is excellent.

So did I. Hopefully we'll see an update on the site soon.

Hope so too man. Really starting to get anxious! Especially with the new connector being added! I have really high hopes for the XPV becoming my all day vape! But, out of my anxiousness, I have also decided that I'm going to have Andrew over at Nurz Box, make me one of his Ogre boxes, next run, to add to my collection. (OKR T/10 W12 60w mod, that's powered by two high discharge rate 18650's, and housed in a Hammond 1590b cast aluminum box. It'll power a .5 ohm coil up to 60w!!!!!) It'll be a fun box for vaping playtime... :)

right. I'm interested in his work as well. going back to his stuff, to have another look. And I really like the prospect of making some of my own mods, coming up here before much longer. (even if from parts designed to fit together like a model airplane) Still doing my homework on all my options, and wiring methods for different systems. These OKR-T/10's are pretty wicked, but a step up from there even, is onto the OKL2's (20A/110W output) and the General Electric Naos Raptor (20A 120W output) system... Maybe by the time I make my first box, I'll have done enough homework, to know how to put the Raptor or OKL2 to real (dependable, and SAFE) use... And if I'm too nervous, I'll stick with a DNA 30D as my first mod's system. There is loads of info around the net on testing and implementation of the DNA 30D, and I think my confidence on putting one of those together, is a lot stronger (I'll be honest, the high amperage (20A 100W and better) DC/DC systems do intimidate me somewhat... lol after having the all day XPV mod, I will be looking to get into some funboxes, if you know what I mean? ;)

Yes I do know. I'll have to have a look at those boards. The V3 is the one I keep looking at. I haven't researched yet but I'm sure a couple resistors or something like that will add protection from putting the batteries in wrong.

It never dawned on me until now (DUH!!!) but the clip, and the area around the screen on the XPV, must be 3-D printed parts! (Alumide is now a commonly used 3-D printing material, containing Aluminum dust, and polyamide) So actually, those who ordered the grey Alumide parts, will actually have mods who's case has aluminum throughout the case, even in the clip, screen frame, and the top and bottom plate spacers.... :) as exciting as this is to me, I'm still glad I ordered mine with black accents. (they're probably polyamide, with another additive to create black, if I had to guess) So, what this really means, is that eventually Protovapor will be able to offer accent parts in many colors, and materials, all created with a 3-D printer! and that is really exciting!

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure how the bezel parts and clip were made when I just had my all-black XPV. But after receiving the my newer silver with gray (alumide) it became pretty obvious that the were indeed 3D printed. FWIW, the black bezel and clip have a bit smoother feel than the alumide.

It's amazing what you can 3D-print these days. There's a group working on DNA 30 powered bottom feeder, the entire body of which is 3D printed, although if I had my druthers, I'd rather have the exterior milled from wood on that one. :D

I got my XPV working again so it looks like I do not get a free upgrade with the new connector but I also do not have to send it in and wait to use it again either and have my all day device with me again.
The problem with it just to help for someone else having the problem. My trident atty had one coil that had just barely came loose from under the screw,it was just hanging there and I had to put a magnifying glass over the trident deck to find it out.Once I put the coils back in place and put the trident back on the XPV,it started and fired.
If you happen to get the "check atomizer" error, you need to apparently get the atty you were using on it at the time fixed, and at the same build it was reading when the error shot out.

What really astonishes me regarding 3-D printing, is that folks are actually making fully functioning musical instruments using a 3-D printer! (I'm a musical instrument reed maker by profession -Scottish smallpipes chanter reeds, and practice chanter reeds for learning/practicing the Great Highland Bagpipe. and I recently learned of a guy over in Scotland who is designing, and fabricating new versions of Scottish bagpipes that can play the proper Scottish pipe scale, but in previously unexplored keys!) I know that 3-D printing is becoming a more and more common way for people to produce objects of all kinds. Just amazing. And I hope myself, that the technology is one that will come down in price for the gear to print, eventually. I would love to try my hand at making several items.... :)

Silver with back trim is what I ordered. I keep checking the website for any update. Guess the wait is starting to get to me.

Yea, 45 business days for me today, excluding memorial day, but not the Evolv shipment delay. Between the delay, and opting in for the new connector, I have no clue how much longer I'll have to wait.... My guess is, quite a while still, unfortunately :(

I placed my order on April 10th (Order #620) and opted in for the new 510 connection. I emailed Protovapor about the expected dispatch time, to which they responded:

..your mod will be produced after all other mods that were supposed to ship out earlier than yours, which opted in for the connector. At this time a rough estimate is sometime this week.

Super excited now that is has a spring loaded 510. If the battery was removable it would be perfect.

Woohoo. Thanks for updating us. I'm #597 so that's good news.
