Yes it will, providing you lay hands on a 1mm by 5mm or so magnetic spacer to place on the bottom of the battery. I bought 2 imr 14500's for mine, and found that they were about a millimeter too short. You must put the magnetic spacer on the negative post of the battery or risk a possible short. I find that the Black IC batteries from Provape actually work the best, and if I had it to do over again I would have bought those instead.

I just tried out an AW IMR 14500 in my Provape 1 and it is working just fine without the magnets. It's firing every time and I don't notice any rattling when I shake it so the batteries appear to not be loose. The spring seems to be big enough to work, at least with the AWs'. Can't guarantee other brands.

This is with the latest 2.1 version of the Provape.

I have always wanted a ProVape-1. Will it accept an AW IMR 14500?
Thank you.

You dont need no spacers. I am a original Provape1 owner. 2 years now, bought one when they were first released. David even let me upgrade it to a V2.1 version(stainless end caps) and I have been using the AW 14500 600mah IMRs since they came out with no problems(They dont rattle unless you shake it hard).. And if you are like me and run Joye LR 510s they are a must. The AW 14500 750mahs protected batteries dont deliver enough amps for a LR atomizer.... Thats the facts...........

P.S. The Provape1 is one of the nicest 3.7 voly Mods out there... Its a keeper....

Just wanted to verify what riverboat said. I started out with the AW protected batteries as suggested by Provape, but have now been using the AW IMR 14500 and it has been working flawlessly. It does rattle a bit if shaken hard but I have yet to have a misfire.

I'm curious as to why Provape does't recommend them (though there are no warnings against using them) or carry them on site. I would suggest they get rid of the cheap Trustfires and carry the AW IMRs instead. With an 8C rating and safer chemistry its a no brainer for LR.

I am left wondering the same thing. I just got my ProVape-1 yesterday and the first battery only lasted 3 hours. Does the AW IMR batteries last longer? Can I charge the AW IMR 14500 batteries with the same charger? What batteries and charger should I get for the longest lasting, that will fit in this ProVape-1?

Yes the charger you have will charge the AW IMR batteries.. I got rid of my original charger I bought from Provape and upgraded it to a Pila charger... The AW 600mah IMRs last about the same as the AW protected 750 mahs do. Really you only get 3 hours out of them? Seems kind of short, I vape heavy and I get 5-6 hours of vape time. Do you use Low Resistance atomizers? LR attys will really make you Provape1 shine. And like I said before the IMRs can deliver alot more amps under load then the protected ones do.. A must when using a LR atty.....
