Provape just couldn't compete with $19 iSticks and 200 watt juice boilers. Pbusardo has a video of their factory. They looked to be geared up for massive distribution and I suppose they just couldn't handle the industry transition that China seized on.

I have 6 assorted Provaris. Good, solid USA made gear. You can pound nails with 'em.

The best way to figure out what happened to ProVape is to own one. If you do, it probably still works and you probably have a hard time finding anything that works on it. With an ohm limit of .3, a wattage limit of 50, and no temp control they were seriously outdated even at their most advanced stages. Many of the new tanks wouldn't work on them at all, or at best they would only fire a small percentage of their available coils.

ProVape can blame the FDA all they want, but it was their failure to innovate and keep up with the demands of the market that did them in. Look at Evolv. The Darwin was what, 15 watts and only was practical for a cartomizer. They innovated with the Kick, then temp control. They farmed out their chips to other modders. Evolv was always pushing the envelope while ProVape was playing catch up.

IMHO, ProVape closed because they really were all about helping folks quit smoking ... then Vaping became more of a hobby to the younger cloud chasers who never smoked before and ProVape decided not to go down that road.

There was also the uncertainty of the FDA regs... and we already knew upfront ProVape was never going to submit to the draconian PMTA fees.

finally there is this ...

I just found out Provape closed due to FDA regulations. What regulations are they talking about?

Cut and Paste from the ProVape Website, that most of we customers visited regularly, had accounts with-
