3.7v on a normal mod is not exactly the same as 3.7v on the Provari. This is why the Provari starts at 3.3v. Normal mods rated at 3.7v are actually 3.7v UNloaded voltage, but when the Provari is set at 3.7v, that is the loaded voltage.

A small correction, if you don't mind... 3.7V batteries actually charge up to and are running around 4.2V unloaded. The loaded voltage on a 3.7V MOD with a freshly charged battery is 3.9+ V (depending on your atty resistance), but does start dropping as the battery's charge drops. The nice thing about the ProVari is that it will provide consistent performance until the battery needs to be charged regardless of which volt setting you choose.

Ahh I SHOULD have clarified that. I was actually speaking in terms of if the battery were actually at 3.7v. You are correct about fully charged rating of 4.2v.
