Provari Beauty Ring and Kayfun 3.1

I have a the beauty ring (or it might be called the tank ring) for my provari. My kayfun 3.1 does not make contact with the center post with the ring in place. No big deal, I'm just not using the ring. Is the common? Anyone else have the same issue?

Way I understand it, on the kayfun you can take a screwdriver and screw the centerpost out a little bit to make contact..
