Thanks for the suggestions LX1X and 1/2 fast. As my Classics are only a a month old, I'm starting to think it's my charger that needs cleaned or replaced. I have a Nitecore D2 that's over a year old now. Can I just take alcohol on the charger contacts and try to clean them up? What about the ends of the batteries? Alcohol those too? (I know-dumb question of the night).

I have nitecore about couple years old.. I haven't cleaned the contacts on it personally... But you can use alcohol to clean them if you wish. Same for baterries. Use high % alcohol.

I highly doubt it's a charger issue..

Not dumb questions! How would you know unless you ask or look it up? I probably go overboard but I clean the battery contacts once a week and the inside contact pin once a week with 99% IPA and add a dab of No-Ox on the threads (not atty threads). I also clean my charger contacts. I use a q-tip for 20 - 30 seconds. I use metal polish to clean the outside firing pin and use two q-tips soaked in 99% IPA to insure complete Brasso removal. Once a month, I completely clean the tube threads and add fresh No-Ox. Every 6 months, I change the spring.

Any of this probably doesn't have to done unless actually needed, but I like staying ahead of the game.

I just ordered my first classic. Zombie with extra ring. Looking forward to rejoining the Provarinati.

Does anyone know if provape still repairs the 1.0/1.5 models? Mine won't fire anymore, and probably needs a 2.5 board upgrade.
Last I looked the upgrade was still available :)

How well does the paint hold up on the Classic's? I'm getting interested in the Black/Red.
It's cerakote, a ceramic baked on finish. It's sturdy, but not indestructible. After about five years, you'll start to notice wear marks and scuffs. Ditto for after you've dropped it on concrete a few times.

Mostly on wet shaving forums, getting my business up and going, and generally saving money by not being on ECF.

Been back less than 24 hours and I'm already looking into getting a kayfun v5...

Lol!

Yeah, those shaver forums are way over my head...
Funny. They say the same thing about vaping forums, and for probably the same reasons.

I cleaned the contacts, then gave it the old alcohol bath for good measure before shipping it off.

Decided to pop a battery in and put an atomizer on it to see what error code it was throwing. I'll be damned if it didn't fire right up. I guess it's good to go for another five years or so.

Welp, I decided to get the B/R Classic, just to change up the colors in my rotation. I have a 2.5 I'll relegate to my work bench for use while I'm in there to make room for the Classic. Just waiting for a flash sale, and watching the inventory numbers on it. I'll wait for the sale as long as I can.

That's cool. I got an original V1 a little ways back and want to keep it original, even with it's 2.5 amp limit. early on in my vape journey I picked up a used V1 and was always hitting error codes, it was my own fault because I was trying to get too much out of the device. Sadly I sent it in and got the V2 upgrade, and ProVape did an excellent job on it, they replaced the window and put the most recent board in it, basically they did a total re-build for the twenty bucks. I was totally pleased with the service, but later wished I had just left it in it's original state.

The ability to give it (V1) a full bath in alcohol is what kept me from sending mine in for a 2.0 upgrade, and I never picked up a 2.5 full size because I didn't like the crop duster circles.

The Classic seems to tick all the points I like, and the Procyon looks good too, if a bit beyond my budget at the moment.

I'm really digging the Classic, especially at the 50$ they can be had for, waiting for the mailman as we speak :D

Well, my Zombie Classic is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, if that says anything.

I'm looking forward to the flat top cap, teardrops, and green lit button option. I am going to miss the rounded bottom though.

Edit: Not enough to go with the 2.5 over the Classic for about the same cost, though. I will probably run it in 18350 mode 99% of the time anyways.

The old 2.5 end caps and extension caps will work just fine with the Classic. I prefer the old style end cap in 18350 mode because the spring tension is very high in shorty mode with the newer large spring endcap. Just don't use the new style spring on the 2.5's and earlier versions, you might pop the board lose if you do.
