Ill fourth or fifth the recommendation to send it to Provape. Their customer service should get back to you within 48 hours if not sooner.

If you've already owned a Provari the other mods recommended in this thread are going to seem like a very poor substitute in comparison.

???? Did you really do this, submerge something that has electronics in water and paint thinner? Really? I'm sorry but that just really blows my mind. Please don't take this wrong but common sense dictates that is just very very wrong. I really am sorry that your Provari is dead but I think that you have learned a very valuable lesson about what not to do. Maybe try something a bit less expensive till you get the hang of electronic cigarette use.

I feel really bad for you, I know what it feels like to be without a PV.
 This equals my thoughts exactly. What WERE you thinking? Paint thinner is extremely harsh on plastic materials and probably melted them like Cinnamon flavor does polycarbonate in clearomizers and clear plastic tanks.

This action warrants serious consideration of having your ProVarinati membership revoked. :D

The Provari is waterproof for the most part. Just allow one to dry completely and you're good to go. There are two stories here on ECF of perfect examples. One person dropped their Provari in a swimming pool. Another one actually survived an entire wash cycle when left in a pants pocket. Both survived perfectly after being allowed to dry out completely.

Provape actually recommends the alcohol bath for the inner components on a periodic basis as part of the maintainance plan.

My bet is that since you had not used the Provari for so long, the bare metal threads in the battery endcap had become oxidized (similar to rust; appears dark and gritty in the threads.) The end cap is part of the electrical circuit, and any oxidation of the battery cap threads can interfere with that circuit.

A $5 tube of Noaloxx (an antioxidant) is probably all you needed to get the Provari up and running before you took matters into your own hands to ruin the Provari with paint remover. (The occassional application of Noaloxx or other antioxidant is also part of the Provari maintance plan.)

Contact Provape to get the Provari repaired. It will likely need new inner electronic components, which would be cheaper than replacing it with an entire new one. Terms and Conditions However, considering you will have international shipping expenses you may decide to just get a cheaper mod until you've better learned how to care for a high end mod like a Provari.

    Standard Service Repair Costs

    Replace Window and screws- $10.00
    Replace Circuit Board - $65.00
    Upgrade to V2 - $20.00
    Replace plastic pushbutton - $5.00
Repairs to the circuit board - $25.00
    Cleaning - $10.00
    Replace top cap - $15.00
    Broken Cartomizer Service - $10.00

Return shipping within the USA - $5.00
    Return shipping International ~$39.00

    Hello everyone.

I have been vaping for a long time in the past. But i quit for about a year and recently i picked it up again. I ordered myself a pro tank and was looking forward to using it on my provari. Stupid as i sometimes can be i washed my provari under water a week earlier. Well now that i was trying to turn it on it is completely dead. No lights, nothing.

I was thinking maybe some dirt is stuck on the circuit so i just filled the whole thing up with paint remover and let it run through and let it dry.

Any ideas people? And if it remains dead, what is the best mod around right now?

    Thanks ;)

As a general rule of thumb, its always best to not stick electronic devices in water and especially paint thinner. No offense, but what were you thinking? Paint thinner? Do you wash your cell phone or Ipod in the washing machine too? I dont mean to sound rude, but this just sounds so weird to me. You can wash clearomizers and tanks, but not the batteries.

    To the OP:

Did you wash it with the battery in it? If so, remember to discard the battery too. It is not the safe to use now, IMHO.

And BTW...Welcome to ECF (Good point Renzuli...I forgot my manners.)

Don't feel too bad. Losing a Provari is bad enough without taking too much crap from forum peeps just because you were honest about what happened.

Just keep posting and reading up here on ECF. :)
