Almost all of my vaping is done at/around home, so that probably makes my opinion biased since I seldom take a ProVari when I do go out. I have too many other mech-VV/VW mods that are lighter/smaller and can get the job done just fine on the short outings easier. With an army of batteries on hand batt life doesn't matter much to me, and I also have a ProVari pass-thru on my computer desk. I have 3 standard and 2 mini ProVari's, and all have extension caps. I almost ordered the new metallic emerald green mini they just came out with for the pass-thru, but decided I don't actually need 5 let alone 6 PV's in service. Two or three max is plenty with an army of toppers to rotate liquids in, so now days I mostly only use the polished standard and bronze mini. Since I only want mini's now the green (or any more mini's) will have to wait until I get around to selling standard's (if I ever do since 2 of them are highly collectable and were pretty much retired early on because of that).

If you had to chose one or the other, which would you choose and why???

The mini. Simply because it has the most versatility. With accessories the mini will accommodate all three battery sizes. I like my standard size Provari, but I bought it for the express purpose of only using it at home to get some use out of the 850 bats. It's the mini I take with me out and about, with a battery case holding one or two extra 350 bats, some juice, and a 510-ego adaptor just in case I decide to stop at a vape shop on the way home to test out new flavors. I hate using the cheap batteries they provide at the juice bars.

I have a standard and a mini. I normally use the standard using normal cap and the mini using the extension cap. When I want a small carry I drop the mini down, and when I will be away for an extended period from home, I will use the standard and extension.

I would love to use mini's exclusively but Tatroe rings are extremely hard to come by. So I have the next best thing. Which one I carry depends on my use case.

I am thinking of getting a mini. I have two Provari standards but I like the size of the mini and I was wondering about the pass thru. I noticed that Provari has a holder for the pass thru. I really don't want to buy a whole new set of batteries. I Will mostly use it at my desk. How do you like the pass thru. Any problems with it?

I started with the Pass-Thru Blox and it is pure junk IMO. It's not finished but raw and jagged on the inside so can scratch a PV's finish, and it is very poorly designed so it only works with a 90 degree el on the power cord to prevent cord damage that is not even close to being user friendly. I sent mine back, and now have a Double Curve Blox instead that I can just lay 2 PV's on at my desk. However, it was not well finished either with sharp edges where the mods lay that needed to be fixed first. $25 for a small block of wood that you need to rework to use is not a good deal. Moot point as it appears they have already discontinued the double curve along with the single curve and double juice/batt blox... leaving only the pass-thru and desk blox models. I have truck loads of exibition grade exotic woods in storage, but all my wood tools are also packed away or I would have just made my own. The first pass-thru they sent me overheated soon after i got it and had to be sent back for exchange. No problems with the replacement so far. In use the home pass-thru is great to use at my computer desk or on the side table next to my easy chair. I never have to deal with batteries and have endless full power. But at $78 + shipping the PV Home Pass-Thru is the most expensive pass-thru I have. Worth it to me, but most folks would probably just buy a bunch of batts instead. FWIW

Thank you Spydro. Maybe I will find a plastic holder with a curve somewhere or rig something up. my tanks don't leak so I can lay it down but I have to add extenders to my battery charger to charge the small batteries and its to much of a pain to keep changing them back and forth so I think it would work out better if I have a pass thru.

I have two standards and a mini. Although I use all three, the mini gets the bulk of my attention. It gets used outside the house the most because of its pocket-friendly length, and I always carry a spare AW 18350 battery with me. So the mini is more versatile.

I have Tatroe extension rings and Provape battery extension caps to use bigger batteries in all. Also have two Tatroe wide base endcaps, best Provari accessory purchase that I have made.

Thanks for the 'heads up' on the Tatroe ring. I just snagged one for my wife's new white mini! :toast::vapor:
I own the Provari Mini and the Provari Standard. I was able to buy a tatroe ring at VapeBash from cigtechs last week in Rosemont. But I see cigtechs have the tatroe rings available....they do not last long so if you want one I would hurry and buy one now....

I bought the brass tatroe ring when I ordered my first Provari... Still waiting patiently for the brass cone to come back in stock.
