So I took the plunge after reading great reviews on this forum and purchaed a Provari Mini Starter Kit. It just came in the mail today and sad to say I am back to using my eGo. I can't say the Provari is bad, in fact I'm too new to vaping to be confident I know anything yet, however the tank they sent in the starter kit seems to be by far the worst I have tried.

So disappointing!

Immediately the tank began gurgling and spitting juice everywhere. I have fiddled with tightening and untightening everything wth no luck. It sure does look nice sitting on my shelf, but I'm not sure I wanted a Christmas ornament for my money.

Anyone know a fix? Again I am so new I really don't know what else to do. Are there other tanks that fit these that you don't have to build? I just don't want to fool with rebuilding things yet. This is such a hassle! Smoking analogs is much simplier :(

Send it to me and I'll see if I can get it working!! Seriously I think you probably don't have a provari problem, you have a delivery system problem. Have you tried the protank on another battery? Elfy will be along soon and get any protank problem diagnosed and fixed for you I'm sure.

Then Baditude will get you onto a good carto tank!!

ok, lets do a checklist

1. Is the atomizer head screwed down tight on the protank base?
2. did you remove any flavor wicks from the atomizer head?
3. does the tank work on your ego battery?
4. what is the resistance of the head you have installed?
5. what voltage do you have the provari set at?
6. what are you normally using on your ego? evod, ce4, t3, carto,?
7. what is the pg/vg ratio of your eliquid?
8. does your previous clearo, carto, etc work ok on the provari?

this info would be nice to have to help diagnose the issue you are having

This tank was the one sent in my starter kit so it is the onlyone I have that fits. My other tanks fit a Halo triton and an eGo battery.

I do have great news! Provari responded to an email I sent them yesterday and they indicated the tank I have has had many such complaints and are sending me a Vivi Nova Tank to replace it.

Does anyone know if these tanks are reliable?

If I don't want to rebuid my own, does anyone have suggesstions for tanks that fit (and work) on the Provari?

1. yes
2. no
3. no
4. IDK it was the one sent in the starter kit
5. 3.9
6. I normally use tanks sold at my local B&M
7. 50/50
8. My tanks don't fit

I am also just looking for some highly recommended tank systems (I hope I am using the correct terminology here) that will fit the mini Provari. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

A lot of folks (me, too) may recommend you try a carto-tank. IBTanked is a great vendor, and good prices for glass tanks.
But you SHOULD be able to solve what's wrong with the ProTank as well. I use them all the time, with no trouble - but there are a handful of little things that can cause those kinds of issues.

From your replies to the checklist, it may be a "dud" coil/head.
You should have one more that came with the ProTank - you may want to try it.

You can check the resistance of the coil by going through the ProVari menu - 5 clicks to start seeing menu options, then 2 clicks to go from choice to choice until you see "Ao" for Atomizer Ohms.

Oh do I feel a little silly here. I took your advice and replaced the coil and it works perfect now! I have never had a coil not work before...wow what a learning curve on all this stuff. Is it common to have a dud? Now I'm trying to decide whether to order new coils for this tank or find another tank I like.

Glad you got it working, or maybe not! Does the offer still stand to send it to someone to use it? Na, really protanks ain't all that bad, I still use a PT1 most of the time. They're pretty simple, usually last at least most of a day, rarely leak, and heads are relatively cheap and easy to clean. Still recommend getting a couple of carto tanks, maybe an EVOD, some cheap clearo's. Back ups, then back ups for the back ups!!

Congrats on the Provari..... You will love it I'm sure once you find a tank that works for you. I use ProTank 2's quite a bit usually without any issues unless it's something I overlooked.

You might be just who I'm looking for. I've got a new to me Provari that works fine with an iClear 30 that I was using on my Vamo. However, I wanted a second tank and ordered a ProTank II. It arrived, I set it up and filled it, put it on the Provari and nothing. When I run the resistance test on the Provari I'm getting "OP", an open circuit I'm guessing. On the Vamo it works great and reads the resistance at 2.2 ohms.

I'm guessing that for some reason, I'm not getting contact between the coil head and the Provari but I don't see where I'm going astray. Any suggestions other than just using the ProTank on the Vamo and the iCear on the Provari?

Just an update on the Protank II. I did get it to work but continued to have small issues. A very "airy" draw, sometimes not producing vapor, muted flavor, etc. I just picked up the Viva Nova they had sent me as a repalcement and it works great! A tight draw, lots of flavor and WORKED right out of the box. I woud recommend switching to a Viva Nova if you are like me and simply don't have time to build coils and such.
