I had the same decision to make. Went with the blue. I figured hey for 15 more dollars on a 160 dollar unit and considering I'll be using it pretty much non-stop for the next ? years what the heck. Happy I did at this point (had it less than a week). If you leave the fire button LED in the ON position then you see this nice blue light whenever you press it. Not sure if I would like that if it were red. Personal call obviously though.

Hey, Tobarger, I believe that about the extra cost, and on another forum it was pointed out that the different colored LEDs have different power requirements; if that's so, I can understand the cost difference easily enough. Of course, if Provape has a shrewd marketing person, they've probably noticed the recent clamor for blue LEDs, too ...

I have a satin silver with blue led that I have had about 6 months. I recently ordered a black satin with red led. Other then just color there is a noticeable difference. The red is much brighter. It lights up your finger through the meat. I actually am very glad I ordered the red for my second provari. I'm not sure if its worth it to get the blue but I think if I hadn't ever had the blue I would have always wondered. For me though after using both for awhile ... it just doesn't really make much difference.
