The other day I put my Provari in my backpack on the back of my Fatboy and left for work. This is the one time I didn't put it around my neck on the lanyard. Anyway, forgot to zip the flap and as soon as I crossed some railroad tracks at about 30 mph I heard the strange sound of something falling off the bike and hitting pavement. In my mirror I see my cell phone and Provari skidding down the street in traffic! My first thought was to keep going figuring that the are both toast after being run over by the cars behind me.
I thought better and turned around when it was possible. I made it back and saw my phone (it was in a case) sitting in the center lane undamaged. The Provari was in the left lane and as I approached I got to see a car run over it! It skittered over a lane closer to me so I ran out and retrieved it and my phone.
The tank was gone and the carto was still attached but flattened. I thought for sure it was a gonner. I put another tank on it and guess what! Still works great!! Other than some surface gouges and scratches, it came through undamaged!
For all the naysayers out there, Here's proof Provari can take just about anything you can throw at it.

Where'd you get that ring that's attached to the ProVari?

Best story yet was a battle between a Provari and a lawn mower. The only time that I've read where a Provari got damaged beyond repair. But it was quite a battle. You should have seen the lawn mower blade.

Yea I saw that post a while back. I thought of that post when I retrieved mine from the street!

HA I would LOVE to see that!!

    Smart car, on the beach.........:)

Actually, I bet a $4 eGo would hold up well. Not a fair comparison tho. I guess there is no other $150 VV PV to do a comparison test with.?

That was a good test tho, shows how well the threads are mounted with only the carto being crushed.

Great story!!! I love my Provaris. I have two just in case I ever have to send one in to be repaired. In the year that I have had them, not one repair needed. I've gotten mine wet working on the irrigation system, dropped them, taking them camping, sat on them because I like to shove them into my back pocket. I basically abuse them.

Last week I opened one of them up to insert a new battery and realized it was full of sand. I literally tapped sand out of the innards. Must have been from shoving it into the pocket my yard work jacket. Still works fine!!!!

The bigger question is, will you continue to use it? It's almost impossible to verify if any damage was done to the circuitry because of this incident. The last thing you want to do is use a potentially malfunctioning unit that could lead to serious injury due to electronics failure. I would either retire the unit, or at send it back to ProVape to ensure it's functioning correctly. Just my 2 cents.

My ego slipped out of my hand at a bus stop once, a semi ran it over by all the axles and then I ended up fishing it out of a puddle. Shook it out, filled up my spare bcc and continued vaping. I think it cost me around $6 shipped.

    Impressive story though. Amazing.
um..Are you serious? You must have the worlds strongest ego. You should contact Guinness world records. Or you are incredibly lucky it survived. I have two egos that the button assembly and head came off. One after putting it in my pocket with the tank on, the other after merely tipping over on my desk.
If what you say is true, Your story is WAY more impressive than mine!

I'm guessing you didn't notice the date of this post. It was August and it is still working to this day. Really there is not much that can go wrong with it. When you push the button it's either gonna fire or it wont.

No, I didn't notice the date of the post. And trust me, I'm not knocking the ProVari in any way ... I've actually purchased 3 ProVari's from various members on this forum, so I am a believer in it's durability, craftsmanship and quality. All I'm saying is that in your particular scenario, it's conceivable that it is damaged; and if it's not checked by a qualified technician could potentially be dangerous ... sure it fires and appears to be operational, but we put these devices to our faces on a daily basis. The last thing anyone would want is for it to injure you in any way.

I'll use a crude analogy ... would you buy and ride a used motorcycle that looked like it had just been in an accident without first inspecting that it's road worthy?

I'm probably being over cautious, and there is probably nothing wrong with your ProVari, but sometimes a different insight is a good thing. ... even if it just makes you pause for a second to consider it's merits. Then again, I'm the guy who rides his Harley in shorts, a t-shirt, sandals and a beanie helmet ... yah, maybe you should ignore this entire response. LOL!

For anyone reading this that feels the same way as Paksoy, you should know that the ProVari has multiple redundancies for safety reasons. As an example, in addition to the vent hole in the bottom cap (in the unlikely event of a battery vent) the top cap is press fit with two o-rings. If for some reason, the battery vented and the bottom cap hole was plugged, the top cap would come off to relieve pressure. (wires soldered to the cap and circuit board would keep it from exploding through the top of your skull)...and this situation would only arise if several electronic failsafes...well...failed.

Those are just two of the multiple safety features built into every ProVari.
