Provari V1 extension cap does not fit Mini

Does anyone here know why my original Provari Extension cap doesn't fit my Mini? The regular ones are interchangeable but not the extension caps.
I'd like to use my 18500 bats in my mini and being that I own 2 extension caps for my full sizes Provari I would think they should fit in either unit.

There must be some kind of size variance. Ive seen notes on some of the sites that sell aftermarket extensions that they dont fit certain versions.. Usually its the 2.5 listed though.

I'm hitting on a v2 Provari Mini with an Extension Cap on it Right Now.

Seems to work just Fine.
