I know of the items to which you are referring but I would prefer to see the option made by the OEM as opposed to an aftermarket modification. That way, finishes and markings would match perfectly.

I have seen those after market extentions..... doest match well with the Provari finish... Provape we request a OEM extention....

I'm no machinist but i'm not entirely sure, aside from the threads, that the Provari is machined. It looks more like a casting or a MIM (metal injection molding) than it does if it were machined from barstock steel. I could be wrong. The castings would go through a little machining to add the battery cap threads and to shore up tolerances for the press fit top cap.

+1 on this. The new 2.5 designs look to be castings with some secondary operations to machine the threads and such. I'm 99.9% sure of this based on how it looks.
But hey... I've been wrong once before. :D

I seem to have a different opinion than the masses. I hated the fluting on the original. I dont know exactly why it just never appealed to my eye. The 2.5 on the other hand looks amazing. I bought a Vamo instead of the original design. I still dont like it. Im glad I waited. Ill buy the 2.5 and keep the vamo for a backup if I ever need the Provari repaired.

Not really happy with the Vamo either. V2 stainless. Nice solid case. Crap electronics. First one was DOA in 30 minutes use, this one now has trouble firing when the battery drops below 3.8. It still will, but takes some coaxing.

Come on Payday! :D

Its all about their machining machine.
I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure making new designs means creating it & then setting the perimeters or uploading the design to the machine before they can go about setting the design into the metal. Which can take time & work... Any machinists want to chime in? I took exploratory machine shop in my 1st year of highschool but I got suspended for turning this kid's machine on and throwing the chuck across the room. Almost killed him. lol. SO I'm not an expert but I do know creating new designs takes a bit of work.

With some good CAM software it shouldn't take more than about 10min depending on the design. I'm also assuming they are using a 7axis lathe with live tooling to make them, this would keep setup times and operational times minimal making the changes easier.
If they are taking the turned piece then putting it on a 4axis mill to do the design, it gets a bit more complicated getting everything lined up and timed.
The parameters wouldn't be changed, just the basic program would need the additional designs incorporated.
I still like the looks of the old mini better, but seeing the new designs more, they are growing on me.

Yes, its called a HAAS CNC with auto bar feeder..

Just got mine today...no difference other than the styling, still feels like I'm vaping from a roll of quarters (I was surprised by the heft of the Provari, even without a battery).

I'm going to be a contrarian and say I like the 2.5 better, since everyone else seems to hate it, cuz that's how I roll. :rickroll:

Also, all of the grooves that everyone hates makes the grip better, IMHO. So yeah, it *IS* ribbed for my vaping pleasure.

Does the ProVari 2 satin silver extension cap match the 2.5 satin silver provari?
What about a Z-Atty-Pro, does the finish on the bottom cap match the new satin silver provari's? I'm thinking about ordering one.

I am using the 18650 extension cap on my 2.5 as I type this, as to the ZAtty, I can't say for sure, but I'd imagine so.
