Welcome to ECF , and that's the beauty of the Provari . You can pretty much use whatevr you want . LR , and SR atty's and carto's , any and all the tanks . I am using some Array tanks as well as some Vivi-Nova tanks right now , on my Provari . They all work great . As far as carto brand . There are lots to choose from , but I prefer Boge's . But unless you go with a carto tank , you probably won't use that many . The Vivi uses it's own replaceable heads , and is easily re-built , and their under 15.00 , so pretty good deal .

I've been using Boge 3.0 single coils for cartos. I understand it's been a crap shoot lately whether you'll get real ones or poorly made knockoffs but I've been lucky so far. The real ones should have one condom longer than the other and should be pretty tight.

If you're looking for function over appearance, I recommend the Vivi Nova as a decent "rebuildable" tank. Insanely easy to fill and the head is cheaply replaceable or even rebuildable if you'd like to give that a shot. It's not ugly but it's not one of those sandblasted Pyrex jobs either.

Atomizer - Phoenix RA (aka Bulli I think). Best one on the low cost side I've tried yet. It looks decent on the ProVari too.

SmokTech has come out with an RA tank that I'm liking a lot too. Haven't modded it to get it perfect yet, but it's not bad out of the box so far. Looks a lot like a regular DCT like the one you got from ProVapes.

I haven't found the need yet to spend $100+ for all the fancy, attractive stuff and really doubt I will. I won't talk bad about any of that stuff as I'm sure it's really good quality gear, but my needs just don't get me to that point. More of jeans and T-shirt vs. Armani suit thing to me.

As far as juices, the sky's the limit on answers/opinion for that. I would advise getting samples from several and go from there. ECBlends sells 5 ml sample bottles for $2.50 for example. Most of the better juice vendors do something similar.

A lot of people DIY juice for pennies per bottle too if that interests you. It interests me but I've yet to set out on that little adventure no matter how easy everyone tells me it is.

There will likely be several more to come along soon with more great advice.

Good luck on your journey! :toast:

I can only suggest you stay away from anything plastic, or that has rubber grommets, because the ejuice will etch and leach through plastic and over time eat up the rubber grommets. If you like the vivi nova's, they make them in stainless steel tanks, which is what I would suggest if you want to go the CE route. If you want to stay with the carto tanks, like myself, I'd suggest the Phiniac tanks. They are glass and the delrin end caps are resistent to ejuice. They are more expensive than some other tanks, but they are better made than plastic tanks. The only reason you would have to replace one is if you break it.

I'm pretty new to vaping as well and have a couple ProVari's. I don't think you can go wrong with them as the atomizer/cartomizer options are nearly limitless for it and its a rock solid device.

I personally use standard and XL 3ohm Boges in it. The Boge quality right now is a mixed bag, some taste terrible and some are great, but you'll experience that with any device and it's no fault of the ProVari.

As far as tanks I recommend Phiniac tanks. They are rugged Pyrex than can withstand small drops and they aren't affected by certain juices like most plastic tanks. It's nice not having to worry about whether or not a certain juice will crack a tank. Also, they fit extremely well on the cartomizers, I have no fear of it falling when just grabbing by the tank. I've also have a Pro-V cartomater tank. It fits the style of the ProVari better than the Phiniac tanks, but is plastic and for the price I'd recommend going with Phiniac because they are higher quality.

I also have a Vivi Nova 2.5 and for like $13 you can't go wrong, but again it is plastic so plan on having at least one Pyrex tank is a necessity (IMO) for any juices that can crack or cloud plastic. It's a different style than a carto/tank setup as it's just an atomizer in a tank with no filler, so there's no chance of bad flavor coming from filler material - but again quality wise I wouldn't say it compares to the Pyrex Phiniac tanks. The Vivi Nova is extremely easy to use and fill, more so than a carto/tank set up for sure. The top screws off and you fill it, and when the atomizer is bad you can simply replace it - or if you're more adventurous you can re-wick/coil it to save a bit of money. A carto/tank set up requires filling the carto, punching the carto, installing the carto in the tank and filling the tank. A bit more work but with a little practice very easy. You will definitely want a tank filling kit with a carto punch. I use the Siam mods one Phiniac sells and have no complaints at all. I would say the vape is better from a carto/tank set up (WHEN you have a good Boge) than a Vivi Nova 2.5 as I find it has a better draw and more taste.
