rounding third and heading home...
I doubt there are many who have heard of a svoemesto somevar never mind own one, but it looks incredible. if I am going to spend on a new device this may be the one. does anyone know how it stacks up to the provari? might as well compare it the acknowledged top dog. anyone with a clue?

I have a semovar an my uncle has a provari mini an we did a little comparison and we both said semovar hands down...
I really like the upgrade-ability off the semovar, i can't wait till they release the mech button and the kicker for it.

Been using it now for 3 weeks and must say about the semovar that it's a damn wel machined piece of kit.
Really like the finish of the semovar compared to the provari, the finish on the provariLOOKS cheap (must say i really like the provari but the semovar more)

I think the provari is getting a bit behind of the pack and needs an updated version.

And last: it's cheaper then the provari! That's a added bonus.

Last last one: for the privari lovers here the provari is a great device i never said it wasn't ;-)

The Nivel chip looks to be a very nice piece of tech and the package it's wrapped in looks super slick. You add in all the other goodies that are offered as peripherals and you have a total package that looks much nicer than the provari.

The one thing that the Porvari might have over it is the customer service Provape provides. That and the tried and true functionality of the provari. The Nivel chip might be a work horse that will last for years to come, but on the other hand it might not. And if its not will the maker of the svoemesto somevar repair for a reasonable price? Do they include a 1 year warranty or the option to buy a 2 year warranty? Piece of mind is worth a few extra bucks in my opinion.

i have both, i love the provari for the ultra workhorse stability and cant think of anything i would rather take out and about with me and will never give them up.. i dont care what comes out next week or how uncool or old school it is.

they have been abused time and time again and function like new. its my best friend. my boss is even mad at me for cracking tiles at work with it, twice now lol. i have 2 for day to day usage. they have seen the floor so many times its not funny.

but man the semovar is pure class and has so many options.

changeble heads in different sizes, adjustable battery springs and positive post. VW modual, electronic mech modual. bottom fire button option(in pure mech mode) and tons of menu settings. seriously nice piece of kit. if they would slap a 2 year warranty on it like my provari its all i would own.
but im terrified of dropping it and it never leaves the house.

as for overall vaping i think they are neck and neck and either one would be a sweet machine, you have to decide what, how and where it will be used, what you want to do with it and how you treat your gear.

i had both a provari mini and a semovar, sold the provari and kept the semovar. im from germany myself so it wasnt that hard to get my hands on a semo, could be tougher in the U.S.

when it comes to VV they are both equal, some people said it feels like the batterylife in a provari is better than in the semo, i tried myself, took the battery out of the semo when it turned off, put it in the provari. could do a short drag, about 3-5 seconds and then the pv turned of too.

the main reason to get a semovar was that im using the kayfun 3.1. The hybrid look u get is quite nice, no gaps or anything and the whole device is a bit shorter. in size compairson the pv mini is a bit shorter when u put a kayfun 3.1 with a collectors tank on it the difference is about 3-4mm.

a guy from a german forum usually measures all the electronic parts of a lot of different mods. he also found that semo and pv are equal when it comes to regulating the output, the semo is even a tiny bit better, and accepts lower resistance atomizers compared to a provari.

Neue Referenz: SM-Tecs SvoeMesto Semovar mit Nivel Chip » Mountain Prophet its all in german but u might find it interesting.

the only thing that would stop me from buying another semo is the finish, imho only the brushed kayfun or kayfun lite look nice on it. Stainless steel, polished attys look a bit different, but u could polish the semo anyway, couple of friends of mine did it, i like the brushed look and vape only my kayfuns, so im not polishing mine.

the only problem for you would be getting ur hands on one of them, currently svoemesto is having issues with a supplier, some of the semos went up in smoke coz some circuit on the board wasnt working, also they talked about some leaking issues of the 510 topcap and that they were working on replacing that part.

if u can get ur hands on a semo do it!! u wont regret it

you can sign up for stock notification at svoe mesto directly, i think intaste.de and cloud9vaping carry them as well.
while i dont think it will gain traction in the us i see them selling out constantly and a lot of people in EU forums are always posting about them.

currently svoemesto is having issues with a supplier,

i been watching the semovar board and the nivel chip for a long time now and it has been a constant rocky road and uphill battle for them since the onset. if they could get manufacturing and supply problems somehow permanently worked out i think the nivel chip would be very dominant.

Yeah, if they could fix the nivel supply chain /assembly /quality management the chip would totally rock. The German blog i posted previously measured it out pretty thoroughly (as he does with pretty much everything he can get his hands on). He also stated that in his opinion its at least as good as a provari, if not better, in terms of accuracy and battery life. Too bad quite a few stopped working :D

and this is how provape rose to power, when you have total control of a product and design and build your own proprietary board in house like that not much supply problem to fret about.

no matter how great a product is the more hands in the pot through outsourcing of work, the more chances of getting stung with these kinds of stupid problems. sad too, when you look at how well the supply chain and production of the kayfun series is going.

Happy to report that I ordered my Semovar this morning, finally, from Cloud 9. They have been out of stock for as long as I have wanted one, and today, I got notice that they were back in stock finally, at least the semi-polished was back in stock. I would prefer a brushed, but I can't wait any longer, and have consolidated my collection and focused just on the high-end, high performance gear, having now gone through a dozen or more ebay sales, which was a pain, but I don't need 25 APV's. Down to 13 now, including the Semovar (on they way in vapemail), two Provari's, which I love deeply, two eVics, 4 iTaste 3.0's, and 3 other mechs. Not sure I can cut it further. It has taken me the better part of a year to explore everything out there, collect everything, sell some very good devices, and cull it down to the best of the best for my purposes. I got the full kit Semovar allowing me perhaps the best APV in the world, an excellent mechanical and an excellent Hybrid. I have the Kayfun already and look forward to putting these two together. Other than the day my Semovar actually arrives, this has been one of the best vaping days for me, period. I started vaping in 2009, and have been totally vaping exclusively since New Year's Day, and just could not be more excited about my journey and my destination. I thank all you for providing such excellent advise and encouragement along the way, for without it, I might be in serious trouble right now....health wise, and a near impossible lifetime of trying to quit analogs. Many thanks and best to you!

Congrats chief!!! Glad you finally got around to it!

You know how much I've been vacillating over the SM-S - on again, off again. I got the heads up last night from Cloud 9 and almost pressed the trigger... but I got a co-op to pay for damnit, and I'm already in hot water with the wife for the near grand I've spent in the past 2 weeks on "that vapin' shizz!" ;-)

Maybe on the next Cloud 9 SvoeMesto "burst" for me... but fantastic for you - I'm happy for you Bill! :D:D:D

Thanks, dude!! Been really wanting this one. Last one to get is my Just GG and then I'm done, done, done. There is light at the end of the tunnel finally.

My Semovar V3 finally came in. Brought pictures and popcorn :pop: :

Semovar 1.jpgSemovar 5.jpgSemovar 3.jpgSemovar 4.jpg

Semovar with my Provari's, all sporting Phiniacs. Second pic is Semovar with IBTanked Carto Tank in 18650 (I think). The IBTanks looked made for the Semovar...perfect match at 22 mm. Third is in 18350 stealth/Out and About mode. Fourth is 18350 mode.

Must say that it's even better than I thought, built like a tank, buttery smooth threads, gold plated connections throughout, a dream come true for me. I love, love, love this one. I was looking for a good variable wattage APV, that would match the quality of the Provari, and I believe I found it. I have had some tough times with my Kir Fanis eVics, delicate beyond belief, and problematic for me in terms of durability. But the Semovar is the real deal. I will be using it with my Kayfun, but didn't put in together yet, and it operates as a hybrid. The kit comes with all three tubes and the hybrid connector. The mechanical pieces are coming, but haven't been released yet. That will complete the set and provide 27 different PV/APV configurations. Heaven!

I do NOT own a Semovar though I do own 2 Nivel Mods. I also have several Provari's. I love them all!! I have to admit, I like the Nivel mods a bit more. Certainly not a knock on Provari, they also are my tried and true. The functionality of the Nivel wins hands down. Too many additional handy features versus the Provape Chip. And its a hell of a vape too! I dont know that they will stand the test of time, though they are off to a great start as they see PLENTY of action!! BILL, please follow up with us, after a few days of use, and let us know your thoughts. I'm really interested to hear your opinion!

Ok, been playing around with the Semovar and Kayfun 3.1 and Kayfun Lite quite a bit now. First of all, I knew the Kayfun was great from the Lite, but I did want the air control feature of the Kayfun 3.1, as I vape all wrong, more like taking a drag on an analog. Hard to break that 35 year preference. As such, my coils don't last long with my dark, sweet, heavy juice.....and, I don't care. I like what I like....and you don't hear me complaining, lol. The reason I bring up the Kayfun is that the hybrid connection on it with the Semovar is something special. Fewer connections, better conductivity, theoretically better vape.

Semovar with Kayfun 3.1 in hybrid mode.jpg Semovar with Kayfun 3.1 in hybrid mode

Well, this is the best vape yet. My ADV's are my Provari and Provari Mini with Tatroe's and Phiniac's, so I can make my mini take an 18650, and often do just that. The Provari is rock solid, but somehow, I've chosen to baby my Semovar. Took it out once because I was in a big hurry, but mostly an at home device. As I mentioned previously, I love variable wattage, rarely use it though, and the eVic's are just not in the same league with these other devices.....sorry, too bad, so sad, but durability and repairability on a $100 investment counts. And, with my Kir Fanis tubes, it's a $200 device as well, but does not belong in this discussion, imho. So, the Semovar may be the best variable voltage APV out there. I haven't done the DNA20 route yet, but I have considered it, and chose to go SvoeMesto first, and glad I did, particularly with the easy build, silica/cotton/whatever wicking build on the Kayfun. About a minute to rebuild the coil and back to vaping. Easier than a clearo rebuild, imho. 3 wraps of 32 Kanthal, 1.6 Ohms, rock and roll. The Semovar will handle a one Ohm coil which is pretty spectacular, and I did build a 1.1 Ohm coil and it worked just fine. It takes fifteen minutes to learn the menu system, which becomes intuitive after you learn it, but was just different enough that I had to check out a cheat sheet to make it all work. I think I watched a Todd video on it.

I was just as surprised with the vape, as I was when I switched to a Provari. In other words, my jump from China 33.3 to eVic was enlightening. My jump from eVic to Provari was enlightening (better vape), and my jump from Provari to Semovar was also enlightening. Direct current with fewer connections does provide a better vape, imho. I certainly don't consider myself a veteran or an expert on anything, but I have real world experience on a lot of gear, and I try and give my honest, no agenda/bias feedback to the Forum. So, I can say the Semovar is the best APV I have ever owned. That being said, I've dropped my Provari maybe 50 times, the Mini Provari never, for some reason, and the Semovar never.....knock on wood....so I can't speak to the durability at all. However, I think it would withstand a drop pretty well, I just would be quite forlorn with even a small scratch on my Semovar.

I have all the pieces that are out except for two mechanical pieces that have not been released yet. One of the reasons I went with the Semovar over the DNA20 APV's was that they have the full APV, the hybrid and the full mechanical modes. In other words, three PV's in one, and, as their ad says, 27 different configurations. So, once I have the mechanical pieces, I'll be complete with SvoeMesto. Very happy with this one. Can't really compare it to anything else I've seen or used. It's the best. A great top of the line device. Highly recommended.

I must share one other thing with you. I have been collecting for almost a year now, pretty much everything I could get my hands on and have a lot of gear now. In fact, I only have the Just GG and Ithaka left to get, from my wish list. Clouds of Vapor did get the Just GG back in today, so I did order the GG and Ithaka, got notice that it's in the mail to me, and this completes my VapeGearQuest. I finally have everything I've wanted and lusted for these many months. I have been using an Ithaka clone for four months and just love the build and the vape on it, and wanted a true top of the line mechanical, and since my Semovar can't be a mechanical yet, I opted to get the GG. So, I'm done. That being said, I do love the Provari in polished stainless steel, so maybe my Christmas present, but, other than that, I'm finally done with my VapeQuest. Again, that being said, I now have 29 PV's/APV's, and my Semovar is number one, I believe my Just GG will be number two, and my Provari's will be number three....I'm done! Thanks for listening and caring, 2 coils, Katya and State O'Flux! Best to you!

Yea they run with this idea full steam and i like them more for it.

for kicks go to svoe mesto and look up the kuyfun mini. this think can be set up in a dozen configurations as well, even a dripper mode. this guy is a maniac for designing stuff to be ultimately usable they way you want to use it.
