Hi,

New to the boards here. Just ordered 510 from cignot and was reading on the boards that I should get a USB passthrough but am unsure what to get. I see a USB passthrough from Rocky mountain that says no inline battery. Does that mean I have to purchase a battery separately or do they make some PT's w/o batteries? If so which is better?

BE510 USB PASSTHROUGH - For JOYE510
Manual Button
Works with the JOYE510
5V
no inline battery

Thanks!

Manual button is better than automatic, IMO. It means you can drip without worrying about messing up the "guts" of the P/T

No inline battery means that if you unplug it, there's no power. Doesn't mean you need a battery to operate, just that there's no battery backup built into the unit. All of mine are that way, and I have no problems.

I've not had very much luck with the type of PT's that have an inline battery. They rely on a battery (that must be recharged) to provide the required amperage to operate the atomizer, that's why it works on a low-Amp device like a computer USB port or 0.5 Amp wall-adapter.

Here's my suggestion for a passthrough:

Get one without the inline battery, and a thick, heavy cord like this one, for example.

Power it with a wall to USB adapter that puts out 5V @ 2 Amps, like this one, for example.

Most of the PTs with batteries are very cheaply made. The one I bought died within two days of light use.

The absolute best PT you can buy isn't a PT at all. The Bartleby is a box mod with a built-in USB charging circuit, so you can charge it and vape at the same time (like a PT). The best part is, you can also unplug it and use it like a regular mod. It's super convenient.

Second that. I've got Bart and his 5V Daddy (I like to call him Homer), but the 5V doesn't have the pass-through function, so you have to charge the batts off-line
