PT2 going through juice like a black hole

Someone about a month ago posted here about how their PT2 was going through juice incredibly fast. I posted to that person and said there was only one of two places it could go: either it's leaking, or it's going up in vapor. Well now I'm not so sure. I'm not getting any more vapor with the PT2 than with my Aros (in fact the Aros have better airflow and produce more vapor, if anything), yet I can chain vape through an entire PT2 tankful in FIVE MINUTES. How is that possible?

The other night I put on The Good Wife and just sat down with a topped off PT2. The show broke for it's opening set of commercials after the teaser, and by the time those commercials were over and the show came back on, my tank was down to the metal bar that runs along the bottom! This is near-100% VG (my own blend of flavors). But I've noticed it with other juice (though it's all my own DIY and all near-100% VG).

If I had sat down with an Aro, I would have been able to vape through the entire show before refilling. Or at least half of it.

What scientific reason can there be for this?

EDIT 24hrs later: OK, and here's what makes this weird... filled the tank last night... same juice, same head as previous night, same mod, same watts, same everything... only difference is I took the tank off the mod to fill, and put it back on... and tonight I chain-vaped through the entire Sons of Anarchy episode (skipped commercials but was still about an hour) and the tank lasted the entire episode.

How can it blow through a tankful of juice in 5 minutes one night, and last an hour the second night, when I am vaping the exact same style, etc? It did not leak the first night.... in fact my PT2 can always be vaped virtually dry without leaking, so I can't say why some people have trouble with that.

I have noticed blowing through tanks before though... like with every hit I can see the juice level fall... then other times (like last night) it's what I consider normal. I just don't get it. Not complaining (I make DIY juice so I don't mind blowing through it), just curious how that can be?

Ahhhh... the ole Protank 2 in the alternate reality trick! We're laughing but it's probably true!! Yes, my PT2 provides a great vape AND it time travels.

Maybe when my juice lasts so long here, the alternate-reality-me is posting about her juice disappearing so quick in the alternate-ECF forum. (Yes, female here, though I suppose an alternate-reality-me could be male.) IAC I will be keeping an eye on that breach! That's what I get for watching Star Trek.

No problemo! I am commonly assumed to be male on forums for some reason (generic nick?) and don't bother correcting, as it's irrelevant... but knew you'd catch it there my response. IMO the English language should have a singular, non-gender pronoun... would make it easier when writing articles/how-to's too, so we don't have to say "his or her" or "she or he"... we have "they" for the plural, but no singular equivalent. I am sure I don't always get it right too!

Are you using the stock coils? Have you removed a wick? Higher than recommended voltage/wattage?

Not having a lot of experience with equipment, I'm going with the breach in time-space

We are in congruence, then. We should petition for a proper singular-form gender-neutral pronoun. At any rate, I am certain your alternate self is indeed lamenting her unfortunate rate of fluid consumption when your own is being particularly efficient.

LOL!! I am also going with the breach, Davinna! For claiming you don't have a lot of experience you brought up a lot of good points. I do not use stock coils. I rebuild them into micro coils using cotton wick, which does vape a LOT better than silica and stock heads, meaning you will go through juice quicker. But it's crazy that the same exact coil/wick blew through a tank in 5 minutes one night, and 1 hour the next. (OK, maybe the opening set of commercials is longer than 5 min... maybe 6 or even 7 minutes, but still.)

I am chain-vaping it ... like if I want to just enjoy my juice (I make my own DIY 100% VG except for the flavoring which is usually PG-based) I do 0-nic so I can vape my heart out. So I was taking hits like every 15 seconds... pretty much take a long leisurely hit.... exhale it out... take another in, etc. Just enjoying the flavor. Vaping a 1.9 ohm head @ 4.5w which is not a high power for that resistance.

So I can see going through the tank in an hour. It produces great vapor. But 5 min seems scientifically impossible. Yet it's happened to me before too... but just every once in awhile. Weird!

Yeah I wouldn't want my present incarnationed PT2 to run into it's alternate version... antimatter might destroy them both, then I'll be posting here that the weirdest thing happened but my PT2 disappeared right out of my hand!!

Happily I have not had the pleasure of the iClears, then. (Always heard good things about them but stuck with pyrex from the start.) But I can imagine all those wicks absorbing about the amount of juice that goes in a PT2 before even filling the tank! A true wick-monster!

Are you saying you can go through a full ProTank in under an hour? They hold approximately 2.5 mls. If you were vaping 10 hours a day... well, you do the math.

There's only two places it can go: Out as a leak, and if a full tank of it disappeared in under an hour - vaping or not - you would have noticed a leaky mess all over your device. Or out as vape, and even with the bestest rebuilt coils I don't see how anyone could vape off 2.5 ml's with a coil/wick that size in under an hour.

I really don't get this one.

I wouldn't believe it myself if it hadn't happened to me. It was in 5-7 MINUTES.... I kid you not. I think I prefer the time-breach-alternate-reality posit. Being stuck in an episode of Star Trek is preferable to Paranormal V.
