I’ve not been posting much, but my life is starting to get back to normal. So, I’ll be posting more.

Ellery and Maisie are a lot of fun, but also a lot of work! They were cute and loveable when we brought them home (almost a month ago). They are still cute and loveable, but over the past two weeks, their personalities are developing. Ellery is a very sweet boy and wants to kiss all the time. Maisie is the total opposite. She has such an innocent and sweet face, but would rather bite us (or Ellery) instead of chew toys.

So, after doing extensive research last week, I figured out that Maisie is the alpha dog. I realized that it’s a huge mistake to let the two of them run wild during the day (encourages her dominance). We already had them sleeping in separate crates, but starting a few days ago, we’re crating them during the day.

So far, so good. They are in separate crates during the day. Fortunately, they love to sleep. So, during the day, when one starts to cry, I let him/her out and take the pup outside. Then I take the other pup out. After hubby gets home from work, they eat dinner together. Then we take them for a walk. Back in the crates for a few hours (I’m so glad that they love their crates!). Late in the evening, we let them run wild and play for an hour. Then, we (hubby and I) each take a pup and cuddle while watching a show. Then, the pups go to bed.

I’ll post pictures soon. They are growing so fast!

Not a big surprise that that girlie is the dominant one :)

Can't wait to see the new pics

Maisie is definitely the alpha dog. I keep calling Ellerie "little Ellerie," but I have to stop doing this. From the last vet's visit, he only weighs half a pound less than Maisie. She looks huge to me though! I told hubby that we have to take new pics.

best of luck. our "puppy" who is 9 months old now is huge and dominates our male corgie who is older. she still has a puppy brain too, just not the puppy body :)

Thanks for the best of luck! We definitely have a problem. Getting two littermates wasn't a wise decision. That said, we took both puppies, so we're doing our best so that both of them adapt. So far, so good...

I'm ducking...it's dangerous around here, lol.

Good to hear the puppies are doing well VG...and how funny Maisie is the dominant one. Can't wait to see pics, they couldn't have grown that much in a month, have they?
Crystal is doing good, playing a bit more and will always look like a puppy.

Div - They have grown so much! I'm glad that Crystal is doing well. :)

Great to hear the pups are doing well... and growing like crazy I guess  They will get it figured out!!! :)

SC

They are figuring it out. Maisie is definitely the alpha pup. We're trying to teach them that biting each others faces and throats isn't acceptable behavior. We have many 'time outs' (back in the crates).
