Yeah - but I wish the policy was to remove the posts - not to kick off such a great contributer to the whole DIY forum. Incidentally, if you live in Colorado like wllmc, why can't you discuss vaping-related activities that are legal here? I'm clear on the ecf policy - but I think ecf policy needs to be amended to reflect changing laws.

Wllmc was discussing a TFA flavoring that bears the name of something legal in 22 states, for which public support of legalization is widespread and growing. Wllmc and I both live in a state where it is fully legal. (No, I don't mean gay marriage.) He was warned to stop discussing it, but he protested that restriction.

Given that ECF is a private group, they can make whatever rules they wish, and enforce them by restricting access or banning participation. If you have a problem with ECF policy, you can't do much about it but quit - or appeal to ECF to reconsider a policy that literally bans mentioning the name of a TFA flavoring. Write to the moderators if you wish; I think you can be frank in a personal mail to any of them. But if you mention too many details here online, the post will be censored and you may end up in the same position as wllmc.

Having written to the moderator myself, I will now go into lurk mode and sulk for a while, in protest of the 1930's-prohibition-like policy. Even that prohibition didn't limit use of a word. I really want wllmc to return - and if he can read this and returns, I'll make and dedicate a great recipe to him. No, not with that flavoring, but with his favorite, Jamaican Rum. That whole Prohibition connection would seem appropriate.

Wait....so we can't discuss a particular flavoring that is named by TFA? I think ECF has made a mistake over this one - it's the name of a flavoring for heavens sake. ECF needs to rethink this one...

Whether it's legal in some states or not, it is illegal under federal law, and I'm not going to dispute ecf's rules on this. It is a free site.

What I am ambiguous about is how discussing a flavoring concentrate that is void of anything illegal should be deemed as against the rules.

"a. These are not permitted -
Discussion or mention of illegal/illicit drugs or sexual content."

What am I missing?

At the risk of sounding selfish, I would hate to see such a great thread shut down even though we want to defend our friend. I really don't think he would want that either, knowing how much fun he had/has in it. I do appreciate everyone's views and do feel the same. I don't want to upset anyone by saying this. I hope you know what I mean.

On the other hand, we aren't the same without him. I'm sad.

Agreed!

Let the recipes commence! (Not that I ever add anything except banter.)
