I'm trying to get a vape that tastes like alcohol. Not a drink (soda) type alcohol, but booze taste.

Anyone who has any experiences, what can you recommend of the vapeable flavours?

Jamaican rum,Irish cream or whiskey . Haven't tried whiskey but reviews says it's a good acholol flavor and less whiskey ish. I want a crown and coke vape

I make my own Kahlua and I want to come up with a Kahlua eliquid recipe. I'm thinking 2% espresso, 1% vanilla bourbon, and 1% whiskey or brandy (haven't tried either one). Of course I just placed an order and didn't get either one - lol! Once I get that recipe down, I can add cream for a White Russian flavor, and add cola to that for a Colorado Bulldog!

Top of that list: Brandy and Whiskey. Both are like straight-up booze flavor. I don't vape any of 'em straight, just like I don't drink any strong alcohol straight (actually rarely drink any alcohol, but love it for cooking). If you're looking for boozy, you will not outdo those FA flavors. I'd recommend 2% or less for starters. I wonder if a little extra distilled water or PGA would boost it even more, but I'm not about to try it.

I cannot stand to drink actual wine. FA Red Wine and White Wine both taste just like fairly dry wines to me. I use them as minor ingredients, just like in cooking. If you like wine, you'll like both. The wines, brandy, and whiskey even smell like real booze when you whiff the flavoring bottle.

I love FA Jamaican Rum, which is a bit less boozy. It's an ingredient for me, but wllmc said he likes it plain at 3%. I've never drunk actual rum plain, so I don't know enough to tell you a brand it tastes like (I just know it's a darker rum flavor and not spiced), but it sure is good. Irish Cream is just like real liqueur, which is low proof, pretty close to Bailey's original flavor. Even that I use as just an ingredient.

(Even though I wrote this recently, I'll add that Bourbon Vanilla is not a booze - it's a vanilla.)

HIC, the Frangipane is a masterpiece! I'm thinking about pre-mixing some concentrate of it for future use - do you think it would keep well for a few weeks?

In my opinion, after it has sat around for a couple days, it's not gonna change much after that.

You know what you could do is mix just the flavorings together (label it Frangipane flavoring) to use as your own 'custom' flavoring. Then you could just add a bit to some base whenever you want to vape it, not have to get out all the bottles and measure. I do that all the time, never had an issue with fading or changing flavor, even blends over 6 months old.

sushigirl, you have my full attention on the Kahlua! Please let us know how that progresses.

I'm chasing Amaretto, myself. I was fascinated to learn that Amaretto di Saronno is made from an infusion of Lazzaroni Amaretti cookies, I'm now trying for that flavor first. Obviously I'll need a supply of those cookies for this project. :)

Thanks, that's pretty much what I meant, just the flavourings, so that's great to hear that it keeps. Perhaps with a tiny bit PG if I was only going to make a small amount, to make sure the flavours mix before using it. But since it lasts well I'll make up at least 4 or 5ml of flavourings, and that should mix fine by itself.

The 8ml of juice I made last night is barely going to last a couple of days  I think I mixed it to about 5% total flavouring btw, and that tastes just perfect to me.

Ya know, I just made the Bread Crust .25% dilution and got to thinkin after smellin it...It smells alot like AP (Acetyl Pyrazine 5% from TFA. Any thoughts??

I've been playing with Bread Crust, and I don't think it smells or tastes much like Acetyl Pyrazine. (I DO get that from FA Cookie, though - do you sense it there?)

Bread Crust...Yes, I vaped it as a single flavor and lived to tell about it. Barely. In 100% VG base, the tiniest bit erases every hint of VG sweetness. Might be useful in microscopic quantities for anyone who wants to vape unflavored VG but doesn't like the inherent sweetness.

Bread crust with sweet recipes: First it takes away sweetness, then a little more adds that crusty flavor of the stuff you scrape off overtoasted toast. It turns sweet dessert cakes into bread. If you want to vape plain bread, start with your sweetest cake and add a microscopic bit of Bread Crust. You get a loaf of plain bread with a hint of the original flavors. I used some in my sweetest meringue-based coconut and got very dry, crumbly sweetbread. That's okay, but I prefer to keep my sweet stuff sweeter. With my juicy apple pie, I ended up with burnt toast and dehydrated apples. No thanks.

the good news:
I swirled a barely-dipped toothpick of Bread Crust through a 2ml tank of 7 Leaves and let that sit overnight. It took away the sweet notes that I don't like in 7 Leaves, and balanced those (high? green?) notes well with good deep flavor, almost savory. I like this and might use it on the rare occasion I vape tobacco. It made Virginia richer and more interesting. Tobacco fans definitely ought to play with Bread Crust, but in very tiny amounts!

I'm on it! And I deeply appreciate the sacrifice you're making by eating cookies to find that perfect recipe - lol! You're my hero!

I think I can smell it in both but now that you say it I can smell it a little more. in the cookie. Nice write up by the way!

Any chance you might list some of your great recipes in the form of a blog or thread? If not, why not  I'm sure plenty of people would be interested. I for one have been looking for a Perique recipe you posted sometime ago, and can not find it no matter how hard I try. It's the one with Perique at 3% plus something else. You mentioned the high % of Perique would not be overwhelming in combo with the other flavor. Remember that one? Hmmm where did it go .... That is why a blog would be nice.
'Sorry, no blogging of recipes from us 'at this time'. We're reformulating dozens of our "previous standard recipes" to leave out the flavors with 'custard notes'. On top of that, we're needing to cut WAY back on the time we spend "ECFing"

Since we don't have the time or space to be "shake n' vape" vapers (we basically have to store everything in tub/totes in a closet, and getting it out takes completely over our kitchen)...we have to make a LOT of juices a couple of times a month. And since almost all juices do change from steeping (and we have liquids that sit unvaped for months), we don't want anyone opening any "surprises" (that they were depending upon tasting like something else). Disclaimer: We don't think there's anything (at all!) wrong at all with "shake n' vape" - especially when we know in advance it hasn't been steeped.

We've only dibble-dabbled with a few of the FA tobaccos ('got an HHV Serendipity Clone that's REALLY close), and we're just getting ready to mix them all of them (at several different percentages), to start testing, mix-matching, testing and finally creating...and then we'll still have dozens/hundreds of different percentages to mix & play with.

:::grin::: 3% Perique? Not us! But I bet you're thinking of the 3% Black Fire in the Dulce Fuego (where the Dulce de Leche calms the Black Fire).

We''ve made one 'winner' with Perique Black (which was a total accident). We discovered it when testing tobaccos (dripping) and were switching from Real Cig to Perique Black. We messed around it a bit; 'couldn't believe our luck at discovering it, and ended up calling it "Corn Cob Pipe".

Mix VZ's Real Cig at 2.5% and FA Perique Black at .5% - then mix equal parts of those...and steep like crazy. It's very "grassy green corn-cobby" when first mixed (vapable, actually, but seriously strong/green)...and then it mellows into exactly what we'd imagine every farmer than ever toked a well-aged corn cob pipe experienced. In fact, it lost almost all of it's "corncob-ness" after sitting for 4-6 weeks. However, neither of us can tolerate Real Cig anymore (and besides, we won't buy from VZ due to their selling flavors {known to be in their Gourmet Concentrate line} than contain diacetyl without disclosing it to buyers).

'One thing we learned with that recipe is that Perique Black is NOT what it 'appears to be' when first mixed!

I have a strange observation with my vanilla nut cookie. My ego fell between my car seat & door. I'm on break now & Vaping it & it reminds me of nilla wafers! Creamy ones, lol.

Guessing the heat did it. It's 80 something today.

Oh, I've been trying to get a Nilla Wafers flavor forever. My best version so far does use Vanilla classic, Cookie, and Carmel, like your Hucklenuts - I mean Vanilla Nut Cookie. Hm, I have space between the car seat and door, maybe that's the trick.

I'm gonna have to rename that, aren't I? It's weird because I couldn't taste nut mix at that point, now it's back. So... What to brighten that classic vanilla? Hmm. Marshmallow? Don't know. I wish I was home so I could play!

Honey! I have some ordered.
I received liquid amber today. Not knowing what that's like at all it has me curious.

Hope you got Black Tea to go with Honey. That tastes just like you poured honey-sweetened black tea in the tank. Both totally accurate.

I still haven't played with Liquid Amber, but got it for fruits. I'll take notes on your experiments. So many ideas to try!

COUNTY FAIR APPLE PIE - fantastic!
(juicy apple pie with all kinds of delicious additions - see notes at the end)
1% FA Apple Pie
1% FA Walnut
0.5% FA Nut Mix
0.5% FA Maple Syrup
0.5% FA Irish Cream
0.5% FA Brandy
0.5% FA Cinnamon Ceylon
0.5% TFA Brown Sugar Extra

This one went through more versions than any recipe I've worked on. Everyone who has tried this loves it - hope you guys do, too. FA's Apple Pie just shines here, like the blue ribbon winner at a county fair. Lots of substitutes work well; I listed the ones I've tested below.

This is 5% total flavoring. If you like subtle flavoring and use all the ingredients, be prepared to add a little extra nic base. There is no loss of any flavor notes down to 2.5%.

Notes about each flavor and substitutes I've liked:

apple pie - adds savory crust; apple in here is jet-boosted by the other flavorings

walnut and mixed nuts - use any combination you want or have to total 1.5%. Walnut (which is also in Mix Nuts) sweetens the apples. This is not a nutty-tasting pie. Nuts add to the crust flavor instead of standing out. If you have only Hazelnut, use half as much and expect to taste hazelnut in there. It's unexpected good in an apple pie.

maple - makes the apple POP out of the apple pie - sweet, juicy, bubbly-cooked. Can't make this without Maple!

irish cream - adds a sophisticated flavor that nobody I know has been able to pick out. The deep flavor complements the apples and blends the flavors

brandy - if you don't have it, Jamaican Rum stands in well. Neither make this pie taste boozy. Brandy makes the apple in apple pie taste bright and juicy. Rum makes them juicy, not as bright, but also very tasty. If you have only Whiskey, use just 0.5% and leave out Irish Cream and Brandy.

cinnamon - this is just a hint of cinnamon. You can add more, but I suggest waiting a day or two. Cinnamon gains strength as the recipe ages.

brown sugar - deepens the crust of apple pie and helps it all taste bubbly-baked.

Try it fresh, it's delicious! Then go ahead with your steeping rituals, whatever they are. It will change after sitting a day or two, smoother, still delicious.

If you make enough, try some a la Mode! Just dilute it about half-strength and add about 2% Vienna Cream. That turns it into Apple Pie flavored ice cream, really great. Mmm, vaping that one now. :vapor:
