Okay, so I'm waiting anxiously for my 510 kit to arrive, and I've been using the OneJoy. They're okay but very expensive. My second one is sure to run out soon and I couldn't find any more around my area. So I settled for PureSmoke Full flavor rechargeable.

Now, it looks like a pack of cigs with green and white. This is the MENTHOL flavor. It says FULL Flavor right on the box. BUMMER! The man behind the counter even told me that is was not menthol. I charged it up, put the atty on and put a cart on. Now since I've been dealing with the OneJoys, there is absolutely no tinkering, so this is my first experience with attys and carts.

It's like sucking on a ballpoint pen. I cant even get air through it. What's worse is that it started leaking nasty menthol flavor into my mouth. YUCK! I checked the website and it says that the product was specifically designed to not drip. I'm starting to think that there is no fail-safe for dripping. Am I right? Anyone have any thoughts? Related stories? Advice?

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

I would stay clear of mini, auto battery models especially if you want to drip. Any good manual battery is fine and safe for dripping, unlike auto battery models. Even the "so-called" sealed auto batteries are really not sealed like manual batteries. Plus you have more control and wamer vapor out of manual battery models and no cut-off. I would suggest you look at the E-Power 510, the Kgo or the Riva. Here are some reputable sites:

You're waiting on a 510 kit? Another small battery cig looking e-cig? I had one when I started and had to upgrade in a couple months. I wish I had skipped that step and just got a larger battery PV in the first place. There are physical limitations to a small battery and nothing, nobody can do anything to overcome them. If I were you, I wouldn't even open the new 510 kit. Just send it back because it's only marginally better than what you've been using, and that's not very good. You'll spend a fortune on replacement batteries, not to mention constantly swapping and recharging them. Get out while the gettin's good.

Cartridges are an obsolete technology. If you use an atty, use it to test flavors by "dripping", or dripping juice straight into the atomizer with no cartridge involved. What you really want is a 1 piece cartomizer.

I think by dripping you mean your ecig cartridge was designed not to drip juice all over the place? Now you know how they did that.
Sorry to say, you have made the same mistake as 95% of everyone else here when you got a mini-cigarette type, so don't feel bad.
Chalk it up to experience and dump them. If you want good performance you've got to get a decent PV, and that means one that doesn't look like the real thing.
Take wv2win's advice. Both of those models, the e-Power and the kGo are excellent e-cigs you'll be happy with for a long time to come. I think Sweet-Vapes.com has about the best price on either of them. Pick up some cartomizers and some juice and you'll be set. You won't need to mess with junk again. Good luck!

Thanks guys, and yes sailor, I meant leak instead of drip. Please excuse, as I am still getting used to the terminology. Now, I know what I'm using is garbage compared to what's out there, but I'm actually happy with the OneJoy so far, except the price. I'm willing to try the 510 I'm waiting for, and if it's not for me, I'll whine about it for a bit and move on. But I'll definitely look into cartomizers and non-minis now that experience is speaking.

Your 510 will probably come with cartridges. Don't even mess with them. They're a giant PITA. Get some Boge 2.5 or 3.0 cartomizers as soon as possible. Get some juice to fill them with. That'll at least make the 510 batteries tolerable and for the first 10 puffs or so, you'll get an idea of what the kGo or e-Power would be like all day long. You can get 5 cartos for about $7-8.00 and fill them yourself easily. If you have $20 to spare, you can get 15 with free shipping. Also, spring for $2 or so for a "drip tip". That'll replace the rubber plug on the carto and make it easy to keep the carto topped off. Plus, it's a lot more comfy in the mouth than the carto alone.

I still stick a carto on the end of my 510 now and then just for S&Gs and to remind myself that all the $$ I spent on mods was well worth it.

If your 510 is an auto battery, make sure you wipe thr threading off really well after you fill, and also really make sure that the airtube is completely clear, blow through it, and wipe again to ensure alittle more juice wont come out when the carto is screwed onto the battery, which will damage the auto.

I would def get some good cartos so at least your 510 will be more consistant/tolerable. Like sailor said, attys with cartridges suck. They can be very inconsistant and need to be refilled constantly bc the cartridges hold barely any juice. Plus cartridges have a nasty habit of randomly dumping half of their juice into your mouth for no apparent reason, so watch out for that too.

Get some Boge 3.0ohm cartos and I think youll like them a lot better. They will give a better vape, and they hold about 1ml of juice so theyll last alot longer than cartridges before needing a refill. Just make sure you get the 3.0ohms and not the Boge 2.0ohms, bc the 3.0ohm are standard resistance and slim ecigs can only use standard resistance. The 2.0ohm Boges are low resistance, and LRs are only for bigger battery PVs.

Check out Crystal Clear Vaping. They sell the Boge 2.0ohm and 3.0ohm cartos for a good price. Plus they have free shipping which is nice when you just want to get some cartos. Again, make sure you get the 3.0ohms for your 510. If you get a 15-pack, the price is alittle better, and you get a free drip tip of your choice.
Dont forget to put in "ecf5off" for 5% off the order.

Hopefully the 510 works out for you, but I think youll def be a LOT happier with an E-Power or kGo. Much less maintenace required, and you can use low resistance cartos with them, which most people prefer. Both are VERY affordable, and give a great vape. I use an E-Power bc I like that it uses non-proprietary batteries, which are removable and cost 1/4 as much as a kGo/eGo battery. Plus everything is replaceable on the E-Power so its cheaper to maintain. I use the 1.7ohm Ressurector cartos which are awesome and they hold about 2ml of juice so they last a pretty long time between refills. The Ressurectors work great on the E-Power and kGo, and they give a great vape. And you can use them in a Smoktech 3.5ml tank so you can refill even less.
These are my E-Powers and 3.5ml tanks with Ressurectors in them : Epowers.jpg
This setup gives a great vape, and is perfect for the kGo too. I just pop a fresh battery in my E-Power and fill my tanks in the morning and Im good to go all day.
With the awesome battery life of the E-Power (or kGo) and a 3.5ml tank, I can vape all day completely maintenance free, while still having a very portable PV that can be easily carried in my pocket

Thanks rob. Fancy vapes, man! I'm sure to point my led-tip down just in case of leaks. If I get fed up with these, I'll take all this advice to the bank. As for me, I'm not looking for the best, only whats functional and makes me happy, which doesn't take much if its working right.

Oh, and they're manual, I did some reading before making a decision.
