Also, puresmoker.com says these batteries have 10 second cool down period rather than the 2 minute cool down period other 401s have. I haven't timed it exactly, but mine is sure taking a LOT longer than 10 seconds to return to normal if I hit the cutoff. Anyone else?

I actually have difficulty hitting the 8 second cutoff point, buy my Pilot 402 battery has cutoff for around what seemed to be 2 minutes twice today... I actually thought it had died.

Got mine today. 2 kits total (hybrids), both the platinum versions from Puresmoker. Here are my first impressions and notes:

-draw = easier than 901 but not as fantastic as I was anticipating. There is a faint whistle/wind tunnel kinda noise that is sort of distracting. One atomizer was worse that the other.
-throat hit = where is it? Wasn't much, very faint with 36mg liquid. Maybe atomizer needs time to settle in?
-vapor = Very good. Impressive results here. Very passable for a small device.
-charge = I went with the manuals recommendation for 8 hours charge. Got about 6 hours on the shorter of the 2 kinds of batteries. Not all that bad really.
-looks = good. I like the rounded mouthpiece and the unit looks slick in general.

Notes:
*Not nearly as hard to top off as I was anticipating reading some reviews. I was able to drip directly down into the cartridge and not once got fluid in my mouth.
*Though the battery does fire up when I blow over the led part, I rode around in my car with it sitting on my passenger seat blaring some rather aggressive thrash metal and the LED never lit up. That was something I was concerned about but looks good so far. Now I'll just have to see how it fairs in a manufacturing/industrial environment :) That comes Tuesday.

*On a negative note, I've only had opportunity to charge 2 of the batteries so far and one of them is DOA. I get an LED but it's not giving any power to the atomizer at all. No vapor, no throat hit, zilch, nada. Kind of a bummer. It's too bad Puresmoker has stopped testing batteries. I intentionally ordered over 100 dollars worth of stuff to avoid the shipping cost, but it looks like I'm going to end up having to pay anyhow. I have the other batteries charging overnight and will contact Puresmoker about the DOA battery once I know there are no more.

*Also, I've also noticed that the battery does not have the stated cutoff and cooldown times that were posted on the website. Also, kind of a bummer. I didn't time it exactly though I did count past 10 and it still wasn't working.

DOA battery replacements were shipped to me free and you can ship the dead one back snail mail (if in the US it costs about $1 and change).

Lotsa people bummed about the incorrect statement of the cutoff times.. there is more info in the thread under the puresmoker section of the boards... I think someone wrote to Steve about it.

That's great. Money's tight so it's good to see I won't need to pay 6 bucks for a replacement.

As an aside, the thoat hit has seemed to make it's appearance this morning which is very nice. It's not as warm or pronounced as my screwdriver but it's definitely passable. Which leads me to my next point. The cutoff isn't much of an issue now. Before, when there was no real throat hit, I was pulling on the e-cig much longer than I should which was triggering the cutoff. Now I don't need to pull as long and have yet to trigger another cutoff. Just thought I'd add that.

I find it very difficult to reach the cutoff... my problem is that I believe I have experienced several cutoffs that were not the result of me pulling to long (music, wind, I don't know). I take a pull, get nothing... wait a couple minutes, then it works again. That is how I first experienced this.

Yeah, that was the same for me the first day. The next morning was so much better. I drag really slow to cut down on the whistle. Haven't even opened the extra atomizer yet. Don't feel like breaking it in just yet.

Anybody having battery drain issues? Twice now I've used for about 1-2 hrs then let sit, once out for 2hrs, once overnight and when I went to use it next, the battery just flashed me.

I feel bad now.. I keep praising the Pilot.. but I do not have the hybrid so maybe there is an issue with the batteries? Gona check PS section and see what Steve said about it.

Why feel bad? Despite my battery problems I still like it and will most likely be ordering another one. There are only so many things that can be causing it and it'll get sorted out. I've been showing it around like a new baby, it's so darn cute. I'm trying the clean/drain/charge approach at the moment to see if it has any effect.
