Push-click mechanism for box mod. Please help!

Hey guys. Long time lurker.

I have a rough idea for a mod, but I am stuck looking for a push-click mechanism for my cart/atomizer.
I have attached a picture, here is what it should do:

It is spring loaded, and works just like a pen clicking mechanism, just with a longer travel. When I push the cart/atty all the way down, it clicks and holds in the retracted position. When I push it again, the cart/atty comes all the way out. Almost like push style cabinet doors.

Ideally, I would really like a SPST microswitch, but with a really long travel on it so that in the retracted position, there is no chance at closing the circuit.

I have been all over the web. I went to pen suppliers, tact switch suppliers, hobby stores and I can't find anything like it. I hope this great community can help me come up with some answers.

Go to Radio Shack and get one of their cheapo push/on switches, take it apart, and see how the mechanism works. Then, you know what you have to build.

I have done that, and am willing to put something together, but I would prefer to not reinvent the wheel...

Has anyone seen something like this perhaps in a toy or other device that I can strip it from?

Look at cabinet hdw. There is a magnetic push rod that has a hold down mechanism. You can get one of those and reverse engineer it.

i read this about the dual action switchblades (out the front):

The second type of switchblade automatic knife deploys the blade straight out the front by means of a spring inside the frame. The blade is deployed and unlocked using the button or a form of liner locking mechanism. These are called single action front opening knives or OTF (out the front) knives. There are also double action front opening knives which both deploy and retract the blade by using a series of springs and locking ramps on the inside of the knife. The front opening knives are NOT known as "stilettos" as some people mistakenly refer to them. A "stiletto" has a long thin blade and can be used on many types of knives from fixed blade to automatic.

wonder if the bat-connector & atty could be mounted to the side, a slot cut to allow it to travel with the mechanism up and down, and stabs your nemesis in the eye when he goes to use it

for ten bucks it looks cheap enough, but looks like it'd need to stay in the original housing

or put the atty pointing out the back, business up front, pleasure in the rear
