Putting your mod in the oven

Hi,

So I asked on how I could make my stainless steel Gus telescopic into a brass colored, and I got this answer the answer that I could put it in the oven at 525 degrees for 30 min.

have anyone tried this?

No and I never would. Although it is a mechanical mod there is plastic in the battery cap and possibly rubber insulators that could melt. Also that much heat for that length of time could possibly weaken the battery spring. It sounds like very bad advice to me.

Yeah, sounds like some kind of a joke.

You can heat stainless to the point where, according to its composition and the temperature it's raised to, it goes any colour from blue to rainbow bronze. The colour isn't solid in any case, it's kinda 'ripply'. And with a device like your APV, as TMC said above, you will wreck all the innards.
