So I have a mutation X v1 rda and the pegs look like this . .. . Being the middle two pegs r together. I run a parallel dual coil. To my knowledge I connect it like this (Key - (.) One coil (,) second coil.) , ., . However can I but a quad coil on it. I was told if I don't alternate posts it will explode but I've seen quads on four posts like mine.

Not sure what his rationale would be.
Being that youir Kbox mini is a regulated mod, its protection circuitry would kick in and shut the mod down should anything not be kosher with your build.
Then again, I'm don't understand why you'd want to make a quad coil build when a dual coil will give just as good or better results.
With coil builds, there comes a point in diminishing returns. The more coils you make, the more metal mass you have to heat up, the more power you need to heat up the coils, the longer it will take to heat up the coils, and the faster you will drain your batteries.
What is the real point in using quad coils?
The issue with quad coils is the resistance will likely be quite low compared to single or dual setups. That's not an issue with a regulated mod like the Kbox. It has low resistance and short protection which will keep you safe. I can't find the minimum resistance it's rated for, but if it will fire your build it's safe as far as battery explosions go. I would stay above 0.2 ohms, but that's just me
ETA: I've tried a couple of quad builds on my Mutation X V1 and didn't like them. That RDA really isn't designed for it. It looks like it is with all those air holes, but it didn't work out for me.
