See my answers below. Thanks Skeet, by the way.....

I know your folks who have been using the FoxyBox will know the answers to these questions & save me a ton of time & money. This will be my first mod purchase so have spent most of the day researching supplies I'll need in the future such as more batts, spare charger, voltimeter (something I've never even seen except in pictures). So a few questions:
1) I notice there are Trustfires & Ultrafires, 3.6's and 3.7's, in batts & chargers. Do I stick with Ultrafire 3.7's because they're the best & fits the FB case?

Both will fit the 5v just fine, but the grey ultrafires are definitely the better fit. The flame jacket trustfires are a little longer. I stock both right now, but will only include the trusfires if they fit ok. They are a tight fit, and maybe a slightly bettery battery, from what I have heard from a vendor at the Nor Cal Vape meetup last year. I have only used the grey trustfires, and all 8 I keep in rotation are still fine after 6 months. I think I only had one battery go south on me (wouldnt take a charge)

2) What charger (for a spare) is best? I can see myself running a couple of these at a time and may need to charge 3 or 4 batteries at once...course this item if available probably costs twice as much.

I would check out madvapes for the chargers. I personally like ones with seperate LEDs and charging bays for each battery, so they charge independantly. I also like a multi charger, because it will work with future batts once you upgrade your mod inventory.
3) Can I find this stuff at the local Walmart? If not, is there one vendor I can go to to get all of this at once (and pay less for shipping)?

Madvapes is a great vendor for batts and chargers, but I use Deal Extreme. Just allow 1 month for shipping if you opt for the free shipping. EMS shipping will cost you quite a bit, so it may be cost prohibitive.

4) Is there a thread here for electrical dummies like me to explain voltimeters and how they're used? I'm not planning on buying a soldering iron & being a modder, just checking volts of batteries, like Steve recommends. The cheaper the better but needs to be reliable. Money is short but there's no sense in buying junk.

The volt meter is extremely difficult to use to test your voltage at the atty connector unless you have a couple of extra hands. Madvapes sells a little device just for that. If you need a link, let me know.

They work great for testing the voltage of batts, and ohms of cartos, which skeeter provided a link to that video. Radio Shack is a great place to pick up a multimeter, and maybe even walmart.

I did find a site called dealextreme.com which has a ton of electrical supplies including batts, chargers, etc. Don't know anything about them, just got lost looking at all of their stuff. I get REAL tired of paying shipping for every little thing I need.

Recommendations please....and of course thanks for all the great advice. Am so looking forward to receiving my first FB!

The flavors you ordered rkayw are very similar, and you can mix them, or follow one with the other without a problem. Bobas definitely has less bannana, but a similar tobacco base flavor. It will be different than anything you have vaped. I need to order some too. I keep it as a treat because the prices are a bit higher. It is a nice change. I like it at about 5 volts with a 3.2 ohm atty. It likes things just slightly cooler IMO, but it is all VG so you will get good vapor.

Steve, Skeeter -- thanks for all the good info. I had totally forgotten about utube for info. Madvapes is out of some of the stuff I wanted and was interested in finding a 2.0 dcc for the 5V. A vendor I've never used before (Sweetvapes) has them from Smoktech in stock, also found the charger that Madvapes was out of. S&H was only 2.75 so I'm a happy camper. I've got a 50/50 chance of getting my FBox today. That will really make my day!

Steve, I saw the small digital "volt indicator" that you screw your box thread into (I think that's what you were referring to in the post that you answered my questions) but does that read battery voltage too? Is it really necessary that I know the voltage of all this stuff? Won't the charger tell me when it's charged, and when the batts cut off I'll know to charge? I feel like I'm missing something.

redcat - nice to have a multi-meter and you can get a cheap one at Radio Shack. Can check battery voltage and ohms on carts. Great idea to have a backup charger. Won't be out of business if one goes bad and that way you can charge the batteries seperate, which is better for the batteries. I don't see a need for a volt meter on the box unless you have a VV and curious what the votage is at a certain setting. Just adjust until you like it.

Sometimes, you just want to double check the voltage of your batteries, and owning a multi meter is a must IMO when you own a mod. the tester you saw at madvapes makes it real easy to see the voltage that the vv is producing, based on where you have the pot set at. A multi meter will make it very difficult to get those leads in the right spot on the atty connector to see your voltage, but it IS possible, just difficult. the voltage tester that madvapes sells makes it a no brainer.

Sorry, I have been absent today, working my "real job"

Or you can build them in the foxys like a provari has :)

rkay-the guy at smartvapes is temporarily out of stock on his dripping atty, but they're the only atomizer I use anymore for dripping...don't have to be debridged or dewicked or whatever because they're simply made for dripping
Dripping Atomizer™ 510 1.8ohm Black Dripping Atomizer™ 510 1.8ohm Black [] - $5.37 : SmartVapes Electronic Cigarettes, Electronic Cigarette
i started off with 808 cartos since atomizers sounded like a PITA, and most of them are -- messy, bad flavor, etc. But these dripping atties are da bomb IMHO. A few folks have had leaking issues but I haven't -- look for a registered supplier here on ECF called shinypaladin -- he's the smartvapes guy and his thread is called something like "the worlds first dripping atomizer"...

the "hybrid" atomizers from clouds of vapor are also getting rave reviews -- I think they're 306 innards in a 510 shell, but just check the threads about them in the Clouds of Vapor subforum

For meters, I'd always just used a basic multimeter for checking ohms on cartos and atties before I bothered to clean them to make sure they were still good. You can pick up one at harbor freight for $3...or any hardware-type store for checking carto's and atties. (pm me if you need help once you've got one) The voltage indicator box that Steve mentions above is a nifty little tool if you're using a variable voltage FBM....that's the only reason I got one since there's not really a way to tell what you're vaping at except by taste or feel...they're temporarily out of stock at madvapes but you can get on the "notify me" list....well worth the $15 for using with a vv mod
