Well I went ahead and ordered an IGO L 2 mm silica wick and 28 gauge kantal wire. I guess I will just experiment with how many wraps is needed for what I want.

According to the vaper's toolbox app on my phone, 28g at 2mm diameter for 1.8 Ohms will need 10 to 11 wraps (with .2 inch lead length to posts)

I definitely agree with everyone else though you must have a way to check the Ohms before you fire! You're just asking for trouble by doing guess work. The first micro coil I made started at 2.6 Ohms then for some reason kept climbing every time I tested it?? Not sure what i did wrong but I quickly scraped it! My second coil came out perfect at 2.0 Ohms and held steady.

You must have a friend or know someone with a multi-meter that can test it for you before you fry a battery or worse??

Edit - After going back and rereading your original post, you never said whether you have a way to check Ohms. So after all this bashing in head about multimeters, if you have one try 10 to 11 wraps...:)

close, but it needs a bit more: all on your input values..
It would be nice for an app to be able to tell you the wire size, the i/s coil diameter, how many wraps, and how long the legs are, and then tell you the resistance.. That would be an APP...:vapor:
I don't measure my wire..

Vaper's Toolbox android app does all that except being able to work backwards from number of wraps.

You input:
Wire Type (ex. Kanthal A-1)
Coil Type (single, dual...)
Gauge
Target Resistance
Wire Length
Coil Diameter
Lead length to +
Lead length to -

Input those numbers (it will figure wire length for you) and it tells you how many wraps!

It also has a "power tool" for Ohms at given volts = watts (and watts to volts)
And a converter for inches to mm

I used this app, I wanted a 2.0 Ohm coil and made it as close to the specifications in the App as I could and what do you know I hit 2.0 Ohms exactly on my second try! Beginner's luck!
