Question about 510 Gold V2 Cartomizer

Evening all I've got a couple questions about the 510 Gold V2 Cartomizers and how they compare with the premium line.

My experience so far with IKEN cartos has been with the Plat V2 510s and the Premium 510s. The Plat V2 510s I found way to stiff on the draw and couldn't get them to wick well enough for 8 watts+

I just got some Premium 510's last week and so far there working really well. I always fill and let them sit for at-least an hour, I've found they can burn at 5v+ if you use them to early, and i keep them topped off very often. Basically every 10 hits or so i'm adding 4-5 drops. But the draw is good. The wicking seems really well after there broke in (about 8 hours for me) and they seem to hold up pretty well. after a good day i haven't had any issues pushing them up to around 9 watts, which i love!

So my question is, i hear so many good things about these V2s, All i know is they have a horizontal coil and maybe lighter packing? but how is the wicking? draw? and burn resist-ability in comparison to the Premiums?

I haven't been using Carto's to long, so only have experience really with Boge, CE2s, and the 2 Iken Cartos above. Boges hit great, but I haven't had one that did lend itself to burning rather soon. And CE2s ugg, what a waste of money those are. Any advise you IKEN pro's have is appreciated thanks

I can't say too much as far as the burn resistance, but I use my gold v2's on my 5v PT all the time. In fact, they're the only thing I use on my 5v PT. The draw is very smooth on them, not too tight but not too loose, plus you can always stiffen the draw if needed. They wick fast, imo... 3-4 second drags chain vaping and I top off after 10-12 drags just to be safe. I haven't had any of them burn for the three flavors I use and when I ordered them, I ordered 15. Using two right now, 13 still in plastic. And this is after two weeks. (My all the time cartomizer is the 801 Fusion so I don't use my gold v2's as often)

In my experience with Isaac's cartos they are juice hogs. Keep 'em wet and keep them below 5V and all should be well. Wrt wattage, do not let the Ohm rating fool ya. There is more happening in these cartos then meets the eye. If you have a VV device the sweet spot for all of them is around 4.3-4.5V.

I know Isaac is busy pursuing an HV carto, in the mean time IME they all scorch when exposed to higher voltages (above 5V).

Hey Switched since you have some experience with the V2 I was wondering if you could help w/a question. I have purchased about 25 of these over the last 6 weeks or so. Some have a blue lead wire some have white. So I would assume two different manufacturing lots. I have found when I get one that works it works great but I have also been seeing a pretty high infant mortallity rate w/these. So far I have had 4 out of 10 fail within the first 2 to 6 hits. I know they are filled and not being hit dry and I am using them on a Vari and a Darwin beteen 4.1 and 4.4V (depending on juice). This seems to be a high fallout rate. What is your experiance and if it is similar I guess I will have to overorder on the next batch

You need to take that up with Isaac re: wire. OTOH many mfrs just use any colour they have on hand.

I just hope that what has happened to many vendors at the hands of China is not happening here. First couple shipments = Great, then the crap comes along. I doubt that is what is happening here, because I know Isaac would be totally devastated if they pulled a stunt like that.

Thanks for the info loft and Switched. I'm still enjoying the premium 510s but hoping to pickup a few of the V2 Golds to try them when they become available. And I agree with what you said about running them above 5v. I have to keep them really wet to run them that high, I think its just the nature of a Carto. Just wish I weren't addicted to TH. And yes i'm running them on a darwin btw. So nice being able to adjust the voltage/wattage based on juice and break in period of the carto.

I'm having the same problem Ski. By far the BEST carto's I've ever used. That being said, out of the 25ish i've used 6-7 have died within an hour or doa. I'm hooked though, so I hope it's just an aberration.

2 out of 10 failed for me. I always test for resistance before I put one on and they metered at 2.5Ω (give or take .1). After they failed I checked them again and the resistance was at .9Ω triggering the over amperage protection on my Buzz.
This won't keep me from buying them though. IMO, they are the second best cartos that Isaac sells. I think the best ones are the 801 Fusions. I haven't had a Fusion fail yet.

Nothing to worry about in regards to the different wiring, thats just us experimenting with better quality, the colors are codes. With every negative comment received, it puts us back at the drawing board in an attempt to nail it closer to perfection, If you were to take the very first V2 Gold and compare it with the latest you will find significant differences just from eye view without dissection. With this batch that will be released in a bit. The filler has been enhanced as the electrode's solder joint has been strengthened and also the heating filament is now a thicker gauge. It can get difficult as when they read the appropriate resistance and when activated for x amount of minutes, the resistance changes to either null or lower. The strengthened filament should alleviate this issue. The V2 gold is very special in comparison to the others as this is our 1st device that we actually built from the ground up. As time continues as does the volume we generate more input on a larger scale to know where to focus next. There's just so many variables from one user to the next. I been using one this week starting out at 4.2 and have been taking it up increments (straight from the Switched Book) and am now at 5.5V with the Provari. It is Very thirsty and is treated more like an atomizer at this point. 3 drops and vape, but still no burning or shorting I still believe the Gold V2 is the ticket for HV vaping.

I found that out. With the Infinity you can't vape LR on it but the V2gold would work for a time and then after a few hrs. it started acting like an LR kicking off the circuit protection. I checked it and the Ohm had changed. The Fusion does the same thing. It's no biggie because I have other PVs to use them on but I was just agreeing with your analysis.

Thanks for the info. The cartos are amazing I just wanted to document what I saw as some high infant mortality and was going to PM. It looks like you have some good feedback now and sounds like the improvements will solve the issue. I just order more V2 w/DT's I am really waiting for the ones without. Thanks again

I just got some of the new ones and I don't see how they can be any better. The vapor, as per Ikenvape cartos, is great. the throat hit is nice and mellow, no burnt of hot taste what so ever and the taste is right on too. They work great. I can't believe how good they are.
I do have one complaint. I wished he would have left the filler alone. I get a slight taste from the filler but maybe it's just that my setting is too high. They are much better than the other ones though.
