My daughter just started vaping and has been watching those video opinions about PV's and asked me why not one person is on a vid about PV's sitting in front of a fireplace or sitting on beautiful furniture, or beach in the background She says most have the person being taped in the kitchen and a sink load of dishes in the background. or whatever. She says if people want to sell these things, they should clean up their background on the video. I have to laugh because there's a lot of truth in what she's saying. ;)

I told her we're all normal people on ecf.

And that's a great answer. We ARE all normal people, from all walks of life. We live in dorms, large homes, small homes, cheap apartments, better apartments, bedrooms at our parents' houses (I'm one of those even if I AM an old lady...lol), etc. and we all have different concerns about how other people see us.

Personally, I won't be on another video until I lose more weight again. I was fat enough on my last one (I knew nothing of vaping back then) and I cringe to see myself on video or a photo.

All that aside, there can be no doubting that these tutorial and review videos are extremely valuable, regardless of the background.

Sitting down, facing forward.
One of the things that drives me crazy about a lot of review videos is the crappy audio and total lack of a script. That leads to the reviewer mumbling along covering tons of stuff that has nothing to do with the review. I watched one recently, a half hour long, that could have easily been done in under ten minutes, IF a script was used, and that was a very "popular" reviewer. Unless it's P Busardo, and even his can run long, I usually don't bother with them any more. Like Joe Friday used to say "Just the facts, m'am."

That's what I told her. Regardless of the back ground, someone took the time and effort to make that video.
The other thing I tried to explain to her is that I believe most of us are non-conformists and proud of it!

The ones that make me laugh, regardless of the background are the one where theres a guy( usually) sitting with a new device he just got. Most of the time they havent even played with it before the video and they pop a battery and a topper and go on and on about how cool it looks, how much it costs, where to get it, and darn it if they all "hit like a freight train" and sit there vaping for most of the video with the lighting set up so the clouds are exaggerated and on top of that they chain vape with 15 second draws. SOme even gag, because they are set up with quad .3 ohms ( im exaggerating just a bit)

They say nothing of how it feels, how easy/ difficult it is to set up. Are the parts easy to take apart? Do you need special tools to make it work? How the threading was or the customer service and after purchase communication / help there is. They dont talk about any special features like size, diameter, if it came in with scratches etc.

Well since most reviewers are just regular folks who want to share their knowledge with others I think most are trying to do the best they can with their atmosphere. If you look at the more popular reviewers they don't show themselves on a beach or whatever either. But they do tend to be consistent with the same room which I would guess to be the best room for them to mess with their equipment. Pbrusardo does his videos mainly in that shop room of his & while it's not pretty it does have everything he needs in it to make a good video. And it's not a bad looking room all things being equal so I don't think it takes away from his videos.

I understand what the OPs daughter is saying though to a point. When I watch a video & their background is not pleasant to look at or if there is background noise I find it hard to watch the video & probably won't want any of the others from them unless I don't find the info I want anywhere else.

I hate videos like this & if they aren't informative within the 1st minute I usually turn them off & make a mental note never to watch anything from them again. Nothing bores me more than watching someone vape over & over lol. I like how Pbusardo's videos are sped up while he does the vaping part. It's like he read my mind lol.
