Question about buying outside of CA

Hi,

i recently placed a order with a chinese supplyer. i paid 40$ to get the express shipping and it was shipped with EMS.

I saw from the canada post website that the package arrived at a Richmond post office yesterday afternoon.

Now here is my question, did i paid 40$ just to get it shipped express to canada and then canada post will deliver it as a regular package or will canada post also consider the package as a express one?

It should be shipped express BUT i wouldn't bother paying for express shipments from China because they have to go through the same scrutiny as regular packages by Customs.
Could be sitting there for days.

EMS shipping is about 6 to 8 days total from the time they ship to the time you get it. that is if your lucky with custom, most of the time it is release after a few hour but yes it can take longer too, in the most part it's 24 hour or less.

it was released from customs yesterday so if canada post handles it as a express package, i should get it tomorrow then

canada post handles it as a express package....i saw today when i woke that at 4am this morning it was in ottawa so it traveled across the country in 2 days

i should have it today then!!!! hope the mailman doesnt forget me haha

Good luck mate ! since the lockout is over all new orders came in faster than the one stocked up , so indeed you should have it soon !

its kinda sad for those who ordered 1 or 2 days before the lockout but i cant say that im not happy about it !!!

by the way...just i case i dont get it today...

i know my local post office is open on saturdays but the malman does not deliver....

if they are open, does it mean that they receive their mail anyways for week to come?

if yes, i could probably go right there tomorow morning to get it...

its only a matter of hours that determined if i will get it today or not

I'm not sure if you can pick it up at your local Post Office... I'd call Canada Posts customer service to make sure you could

It all depends on whether you get the dreaded notification card - if you do and it says "Available tomorrow after 1PM" then you should be able to go pick it at the post office on Saturday...

I prefer to have gear shipped from china than the US.

I choose the cheapest shipping option and on average is 1/3 faster than US packages.
