Question about charging egos

From what I've read egos have specific chargers for each one (I.e. Joytechs egos can only be charged with joytech chargers)But does that refer to the USB cable or the wall charger itself? I don't want to kill my batteries.

Its for the USB charger not the wall adapter.

Older JT 510 cig-a-likes can't use the charger made for eGo batteries.

The eGo charger outputs 420ma, and I believe the cig-a-like charger only does 220ma.

So as long as you use the USB that comes with the device you should be ok right.

for the pass-thrus,use the usb supplied,for the twist and spinner,any 510 style 420ma will do the trick without harming the batteries.
I tried a 200ma charge cord that came with a veppo 900mAh and the light on the charger turned red,but the button on the unit did not flash when I plugged it in. I left it plugged in all night and in the morning the charger light was still red. Didn't do any damage,just didn't charge the battery at all.

The wall charger just needs to be able to supply the max current that the device will draw so it shouldn't matter. Higher current chargers are fine, just not lower than the original.

My Twists will only charge on the Joytech charger. Not on the generic charger that came with my Kgos

The Kgos will charge on the Joytech charger.

I'm guessing the Kgo charger goes deeper and the eGo Twists don't make contact.

The wall warts seem to be interchangeable.

The Center pin on the JT charger can become recessed. After putting either of my Twist on too tightly, the 650pt won't make contact.

Quick fix is to ever so carefully eek the center pin up a touch.
